WTL got a bit heated today. DOM said we won't have the shorter working week in on 1st October, someone asked if we get paid o/t for the extra hour we'll be working he said no.
Thoughts on this guy's? It's a national agreement & affects everybody's pay, surely they're not allowed to bring it in on an individual office basis?

Contact the area rep, It's a national agreement and should be being implemented as from that date everywhere. If not the agreement has been broken and could lead to industrial action unless resolved quickly.

NO hes talking bullshit , its not down to the staff help lose the 1 hour its down to them , get your rep to speak to him if he then keeps trying it on then the rep throws it in the framework as a flashpoint that should get whoever an arse kickingihatedogs wrote:WTL got a bit heated today. Rm is a national company that has national agreements so if an opg in your office works a 39 hour week and an opg in the office down the road works a 38 hour week for same pay don’t see how that would be a fair comparis

And yet it's fair that everybody in the office I've transferred to receives an ''efficiency bonus'' in their weekly pay (can't remember the exact title of it) and yet I don't get it, even though I also have to do the additional workload to meet the ongoing efficiency targets which ensure it continues to get paid (to everyone else)soltan wrote:Rm is a national company that has national agreements so if an opg in your office works a 39 hour week and an opg in the office down the road works a 38 hour week for same pay don’t see how that would be a fair comparis

I think you will find this an historical "efficiency bonus" (PBS?) which your current workload does nothing to fund.
RM was very keen to get rid of them in the last lot of talks but the idea was dropped.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Maybe you're right Clash, but our DOM has given the impression that the efficiency targets are still ongoing and still have to be met to ensure ''we'' continue to get the payment.

We got shown an agreement signed by Mike Hewitt and Mick Cavanaugh today that says the 1st hour has to come of the start of the day no other option regardless wtf!
No were in the agreement did it mention this so how can cwu hierarchy make this decision without consultation with the members?

Tell you now it is to do with later acceptance times in no way would they compress the pipeline it is a credit to us all we stuck to our gun's and did not make the 5:00 PM finish a reality! which is what they wanted all along.trouble wrote:We got shown an agreement signed by Mike Hewitt and Mick Cavanaugh today that says the 1st hour has to come of the start of the day no other option regardless wtf!

All hours of SWW will likely have to come off the start of duty time. As far as I know this was agreed between the CWU & the RM. If implementing the latest hour of SWW has been delayed in your site it will mean your area union rep has put in a disagreement to get the SWW taken off the end of duty time. This will hold up implementation until the area disagreement is resolved. There was an area disagreement in our area and it may still be ongoing. Our DOM & union rep were asked individually to defend the disagreement and obviously couldn't so the SWW starts in our office from Monday. In short if you are not getting the SWW implemented it is not RM holding it up but area reps from the union.
I think you can sort out on an individual office basis how to split up the hour so you could have it 12 minutes per day or put more on quieter days such as Tuesdays. We have it set at 6 minutes off sorting time & 6 minutes off initial delivery time. In actuality this just moves our official start time from 0612 to 0624 each day.

Everyone has different start times but where if their disagreement stick to start time and finish 12 minuets earlier they will soon come to agreement but at the end of the day it is better than the 5:00 PM for all as was their starting point in 2015!Celgar wrote:All hours of SWW will likely have to come off the start of duty time. If LAT really takes off as a product then 17:00 finishes in deliveries could well be a possibility eventuallyk979aaa wrote:Everyone has different start times but where if their disagreement stick to start time and finish 12 minuets earlier they will soon come to agreement but at the end of the day it is better than the 5:00 PM for all as was their starting point in 2015!Celgar wrote:All hours of SWW will likely have to come off the start of duty time.
