Hi folks
Is it possible to be re-employed after medical retirement without having to pay back the settlement :
I have been advised that it is after 2 years but they were not absolutely sure :
Thank you :P

Why would you go back too a job you were medically retired from? were you not ill enough in the first time? and even if you got employment you would bet your life you will not get a pay out again why not just find a more easy job like working in an office or anything but what you got paid off for some cannot get paid off in our office they wallow around and I do feel sorry for them poor buggers. If however you are talking another job not in RM you can do so at any time with out penalty you were medically not fit for RM not for any other job but I would limit my options to more desk duties or something like that depending on your condition.

I'm taking a guess here but I rather think that the OP was told the old bullshite line off a manager/useless rep when they are pushing for ill health retirement and they don't really want it of
Look take the money ,get yourself right but remember you can always come back in two years time routine.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

It's one hell of a risk to take but if you take the risk of jumping of a plane why would you be so desperate get back in half way down as it were?

I think this post might be due to a lot of us who leave RM and for all the problems that we come across things are not always greener on the other side. They still are a pretty good employer. That's how crap working in the UK has become but there are thousands of vacancies out their for minimum wage with a lot more heavy work. Posties are quite well paid compared to a LOT of other workers. If they could just stop the managers from bullying and totally demoralizing staff then it could maybe go back to being a job that everybody wanted. Remember when all you used to hear was, GET INTO THE POST OFFICE AND YOUR SORTED FOR LIFE,. That's was when you knew your duty and EXACTLY what was happening before lapsing and managers bonuses.

I've been medically retired and I sure as hell ain't ever going back to that shite job. Being harassed and bullied almost daily , more and more work to do , having to wear clown shoes , being monitored by PDA , yes a great job I think not !
