Trouble at Tyneside. If anyone knows anything can they post here please.

I'd love to know which Delivery Offices are out.

D.O's went out as normal, albeit with less mail.

As far as I can tell NE, SR, DH, DL and I think Teesside Mail Centre closed. so probably TS.

A huge area.

Tyneside mailcentre nightshift staff has walked out on a number issues. The area processing rep is currently speak to staff to find out what the issues are.

Managers doing work
Moving temp full time back to part time but still having agency in every day/night
DO letter volume today didn’t seem noticeable
Packets definitely down though

they went back in at about 1400, …..so we'll probs get hammered with packets tomorrow. mail was normal today though. it was just the mail centre. no D.Os

It's amazing how everything is always reactive and not proactive in Royal Mail land.

You will probably find that the area rep knew very well the issues, may well have been talking to management in order to resolve things and getting nowhere, but cannot personally be involved in an unofficial walkout due to UK trade union restrictions.

well done Tyneside mail centre for standing up to managers who ignore agreements etc. Our office and many more mail centres have the problem of hours being lapsed .overtime cut but managers then performing OPG work all on all shifts to cover the shortfall.They ignore any challenge made over this practice confident that the staff will not take any action and just get on with there work. I wish more offices had the guts to stand up to the managers like our northern posties . TOTAL RESPECT for them.

Totally agree,a lot of the problems are caused by greedy managers,who really dont give a toss about the posties,all they think about is lining their own bloody greedy pockets! Lets hope more offices stick together.
