Sickness Pay

Hello, new rep here. Been checking the new agreement and can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I've a member who was off for 5 months and 3 weeks, he's back at work and has been for 7 months.
He has went off sick again and it's looking like it's going to be long term.

What I'm trying to look for is, will he have 6 months sick pay before he goes to half pay. That's the worst case scenario, don't want to be giving out wrong information. Thanks for your help.

I believe it's been covered in previous topics if you do a search, but it's 6 months full sick pay in any rolling 4 year period. As it's been so close since their last sickness, 1/2 pay will kick in pretty soon.

aye that is exactly correct. he will have a week or two full pay or thereabouts then down to half pay. as the above poster says, its a four year cycle.

aye, but he will lose half pay and go down to zero pay after 6 months.

Full rate sick pay will not be paid in total for more than 6 months (26 weeks) during any calendar year. Further periods will be paid at half rate, but no sick pay (other than at pension rate where applicable) will be paid when the employee has been absent for a total of 12 months (with or without pay) in any period of four years

calender year, april to april?

so assuming his been at work 7 months his gone over to the next calender year meaning i believe he may be getting full rate upuntil his hit the 12 month maximum in 4 years.
