30 minutes tie up HELP

30 minute tie up times is a national agreement .
Need help on it but ?
Is the 30 minutes include redirections drop bags etc
Or is it mainly just only 30 minutes after all off the above has been done .
Can't find a link anywhere about it .
My thought were part timers came in all the above was done then 30 minutes just to tie up

Nearly every day occurrence for me, always on a different walk and trying to work out where to tie up to is a nightmare. Or getting out on delivery and being so confused!

Tell the gaffers when they get back and they want me to write it out as if I know it inside out after a couple of days

It has been said on here many times,you have a start time and you have a finish time,if the dom asks you to do something reasonable ie,throwing off,sorting packets,extra loop ect,and it is within your paid hours and it is a reasonable request then just get on with it,do not get drawn into this will take 20 mins or this should only take 30 mins,start on time, use the equipment,try a neighbour,take your break,do the equipment check,then either complete the delivery or bring back whatever is left at your finish time,do not let management make their problems your problems

In my experience most walk holders couldn’t care less if iit’s difficult for a reserve to tie up. Actually, a lot of them at our place enjoy this method of artificially extending the workload on their duty for others - makes them look good.

Correct. "Put somebody else on my duty, see how long it takes them." Heard it many a time in our office.

Is as I've been told etc from high up union official
That's how part time staff come in etc 30 minutes when we're ready to tie up , there door 2 doors should be in then they have 30 minutes to tie up its in there 318s ....but most managers have removed 318s from dutys frames so they can lie to get there 10% bonuses

30 minutes is a generally held resourcing standard.
It isn't as far as I know in any national agreement. And how could it be?
Do you get 30 minutes on a busy Wednesday in October and 30 minutes on a light Tuesday in August?

If office A has a 4h 30 delivery span and office B has a 3h 45 span do the part timers both get 30 minutes to tie down the duty?
What about tying up, labelling and weighing any drop bags that a longer and heavier duty might entail? Or a lighter duty won't entail?

If the traffic is below model week, it stands to reason it might be possible to tie the duty up quicker than on a day when it is above.

No. Its not that hard and fast. It takes as long as it takes.

The 30 minutes is whats planned generally so that they can resource correctly.

Like a lot of jobs so much time is spent doing task A, so much is spent doing task B. If you didn't have a plan then who decides what gets done.

In effect, all they are saying is that someone will be expected to do an average of 30 minutes at that task so it's planned into the day. But it doesn't mean you have to have 30 minutes, or it has to take you 30 minutes. It may take an hour or 10 minutes, but to plan properly they plan for 30 minutes.
