clocking in machines

I hope so , sooner the better imo

, how many big companies do we know that sign a bit of paper to start work and sign it again when you finish , when we all know the early starters don't sign in until there official start time but yet all there mail is in and the earlier finishes don't sign out or if they do they just put there finish time down and there sat at home , because none of it is policed by managers , its a normal job as job and knock is gone and the quicker people realise this and start doing the job right the better , the company want posties to work there hours so whats the problem with that ,

Can’t see them bringing in dedicated units when they can just roll out a PDA software update that would include more features. Such as “you are registered as late. Give reason in box below”. And, “you are registered as finishing early. Confirm manager has been informed by ticking box below”.

over time as extra on another duty after your own duty ? or over time on your own ? pda actuals will sort the bigger dutys out and they will be adjusted

Ah the signing in sheet, what a work of fiction that is.....I signed in this morning at 6.12, noticed the bloke next to me signed in at 6.15 yet all his sequenced mail was in as well as the early sorted mail and parcels!..hes better than Michael j fox

So you didn’t bother to answer. Apparently people can’t get a flyer now with these PDA’s but they still come in early

In a DO chances are that staff don't collect their PDA from wherever they're kept until they're ready to go out and in a MC only certain duties need PDAs and they'd probably have to at least double, probably triple the number of PDAs if they were to use PDAs in a MC for signing in/out

Surely if they were going to be brought in, they should have been brought in years ago?? I don't get the obsession with them because managers must know by now who's starting early and who isn't. They just choose to do nothing about it, so what difference is a clocking machine going to make when someone routinely comes in an hour early everyday unpaid??

I assure you, soon enough we will have the PDA tethered to us for the entirety of the shift. You’ll be required to log in as soon as you arrive; anyone who thinks PDA data driven resourcing will not be expanded to cover indoor is really out of touch with the way the world is going.

ok then they can come in early but the data from the pdas will show your out before your official going out time so r/m will take the hours saved out the office from this

, BUT they will be no going home early as clocking out has nothing to do with the use of pdas , is that better ?

It’ll be brought in via PDA with separated, distinct stages such as “on your frame now”, “on IPS now” etc so that your manager’s manager’s manager knows exactly what you’re doing for your dough. This isn’t about local gaffers who just want to get done for the day. It’s about controlling them as much as it is about controlling you.
