D2D payment

Part time workers get a percentage of the weekly delivery supplement compared to a full time worker. This is to reflect the D2D's being put into frames by the full time workers before the part timers come in. However there is no mechanism in place for a part time worker to claim the full payment when they are asked to come in early. Myself and several other part timers in the DO were asked in early everyday for months on end and had no recourse to claim this money, which I take RM just keep.
Has this been investigated by the union?

Ok, ok, ok. I've looked into it a bit further. Any difference in payment is made up on an Overtime SSPR.

Un bloody believable.
Nobody gets paid for D2D.
The delivery supplement is for working in delivery.
It is built into the overtime rate for p/t staff up until 39 hours..

So having never been told what the supplement covers, why not explain???

Its a pro-rata payment for working in the Delivery Function. It's in recognition of the unique challenges that Delivery colleagues face.

Just to add anyone in deliveries who does 39 hours in any week WILL be paid exactly the same.

If you work same hours as a full timer you get your hourly rate made up. If you don’t work as many, tough luck it’s pro rata

In our office the D2D'sand sequenced are boxed in by the full time staff each morning before P/T staff arrive as part of the office working plan.

Is it different in other offices?

Pro rata is based on your contracted hours, not what you actually work. D2D specific payments don't exist anymore (as others have so subtly pointed out). p/t contract people lose out on everything in pro rata terms and no wonder they are mostly desperate to be made full time, and the company pushes back against the pressure to increasse the contract all the time, they get us on the cheap.

Doesn't leave them much time on delivery then. If on a 25 hr contract that's 4 hr 30 work time minus:
time to throw a frame in from scratch, sort packets, re-di's, bundle up, van checks, getting to and from delivery and handing in 739's/mis-sorts etc on return to DO. About 2 hours 30, so about half a frame?

They don't lose out on the Del Supp though. Between contract and 39/38 hours any overtime is paid at SSPR which includes the Del Supplement in it.

My best guess at SSPR is Specific Supplement Pressure Rate.

Cool story. Part timers supplement might not go visibility go up the more hours they do but their hourly rate from contract to 39 hours does to take into account the supplement they’ve lost.
