The only way to sort out delivery offices

my opinion the only things that's going to sort this company is clocking in and out machine.
Every office around the UK on the same page tea break etc .
Need to take away management bonus.
Bonus for all the office productivity etc.
PDAs locked away till after tea breaks .

I don't understand this obsession with clocking in and out. We sign in and out. What's the difference?

With signing in, the time that someone "signs-in" or "signs-out" might not necessarily be the actual time that they did. By having electronic clocking in machines, the time that someone "signs-in" or "signs-out" can't be fiddled in any way

Clock in and out will come in electronically via PDA. PDAs will be an indoor thing rather than just outdoor in the future.

To add, if you haven’t logged in by your start time, there will be a structured consequence coded into the software for that situation.

This obsession of clocking in and out is getting ridiculous.
What about getting rid of people who clearly don’t want the job? Those that drag their feet and do as little work as possible.

DOMs can probably now indirectly deal with that with PDA actuals

We've got a 'de facto' clocking out that has been introduced this week, with scanning the collection bags back into the office on your return from your walk. Any false recording of finish time on signing out sheet can be flagged up quite easily, I would think. That said finishing too early would be a lovely problem to have!!

Also have guys that are now hovering round not wanting to go out too early, so basically killing time, and yet they have still come in early to prep their duties..........

It’s not about doing as little work as possible. It’s about making the work load fair. If everyone worked 100% correctly and to time then they’d see the job cannot be done in duty time unless it’s a Tuesday or Saturday. Walks would need to be sorted and made fair, lapsing wouldn’t get done too.

Even my manager told me I need to be using a trolley for every single loop if it has a parcel. Even just 1 parcel, so I’m going to do as I’m told and let them deal with the repercussions

If everyone worked 100% correctly and to time then they’d see the job cannot be done in duty time

If everyone worked efficiently in Royal Mail including managers we would probably need 20% fewer staff.

I don’t know how it is in your office but in mine we have to rush around just to finish on time. There’s no time for a break on 90% of duties here.
If I work how Royal Mail want, use a trolley, scan every 2D I see, scan every foreign packet, take my break etc, I end up bringing 2 loops back come my finish time.

Gross exaggeration!
20% reduction in managers would be a start in saving a lot in cost and inflated bonuses.
