Hi all, I am looking for a bit of advice if anyone can help, I have an ongoing grievance in my workplace (Parcelforce) regarding scheduled attendance being put to the front of my duty which means I am losing out roughly £3.50 nightly in Nightshift Duty Allowance due to this.
I have asked my CWU Rep (I am a full paying member) for help several times and been told by him as it is a grievance it is between the business and myself and he cannot get involved, but I cant understand this as I would have thought that the Union should be there to help me instead of me trying to do it all myself ?
Can anyone give me some advice on where I stand with this please. Does anyone know the National agreement on the Scheduled Attendance Agreement.
Thank you in advance.

Hi thanks for the link I have read that but it's a little unclear although it seems to say SA should be agreed on a yearly basis, it is as I read it also alluring to saying you can also be paid NDA during SA which I would think would be fair as you would be losing money if working SA when you should be getting paid nightshift duty allowance already are you entitled to be paid both if they clash ??? TIA.

The scheduled agreement is set up and introduced as the work involved and required is unable to be fitted into normal working hours but not to the detriment of your normal working hours and should not clashfreedom4170 wrote:Hi all, I am looking for a bit of advice if anyone can help, I have an ongoing grievance in my workplace (Parcelforce) regarding scheduled attendance being put to the front of my duty which means I am losing out roughly £3.50 nightly in Nightshift Duty Allowance due to this.

Hi Rehabron yes I agree totally with what you have said hence the grievance, I am just trying to get more information and i have been trying to get my union rep to help but he says as it is a grievance he cannot get involved allegedly which I find strange, so basically I am left to do it on my own. I don't understand why the business can change the SA from the end of the duty to the beginning without discussing it first which entailed me losing out.

Have sent you the link on the new grievance procedure and on reading you will note that you can have representation at any meeting with union rep.

the rep should help you with your grievance and that means even typing it out for you if you wish, that is what he is supposed to do. Its your grievance though as it has to come from you.
He should support you and go into every meeting with you.

Hi everyone, thanks for the help and replies.
I will be meeting with the manager next week at some point due to some of my work colleagues being on annual leave until then, but hopefully we can get it sorted but if not then I will be taking it to the next level, Thanks again.
