It is easy for anyone to attack anything that is presented in the form of a poster / leaflet etc. Below is a vote no campaign letter from on here! I've put my comments in CAPITALS and bold for ease of reference
SECTION 1 – EMPLOYEE PAY & BENEFITS
• There is NO back pay. An amount of £175 will be paid from ESOS (a scheme to capture savings you have already made). There is no new money from Royal Mail.
• 5.4% from 1st Oct, this DOES NOT include Shift Allowances, SA, Driving Allowances, Sunday work or colleagues in Network. Make no mistake, this is a 5.4% pay rise from April 2007 to April 2009 = 2.7% per year only. The 1.5% from April 08 which is only payable when you agree to ALL the flexibility aspects. No further pay deal until April 2009.
• Early shift allowances in Delivery will be given to you on a grandfather rights basis if you were in post on April 2007.
NO MENTION OF THE FACT THAT IT WILL ALSO PROTECT THOSE WHO MOVED TO LATER STARTS AS EARLY AS MAY 2005!!!
• The current and discredited 50:50 productivity scheme remains, this is payable only on savings over and above your units budget over which you have no input or influence over.

Love joy
I have a lot of respect for you but it seems to me your falling into the same frame of mind regarding the union as managers do for RM
you only look for positives you seem unwilling to except the negative, which i find quite uncomfortable because you have always seemed
level headed and fair in most of your posts.Anyway what i wanted to say to you was regarding summer savings (banking hours) My manager
has told us he is putting these hours on the computer (the hours banked our what he thinks you owe regardless of when you finish) and if
you are needed at Christmas or any other time to work over (up to 12 hours a day :his words) you will have too,and they will be taken out
of the banked hours you owe not paid as overtime. And as for Saturdays he has already said he has talked to the area manager and there is
no way we or going to get an earlier start on sats and we will be clearing all mail sort as well.So all i can say about the agreement is RM will
just by pass the union and get any changes they want regardless this is why in my opinion we should have had national not local agreement
as rural areas like mine will be quite literally F'%ked.
Well thanks for all your help over the last few months Love joy really appreciated i just can't agree with you on this but i still think you a Top Bloke

Well i for one hope not as you have posted a lot of informed and very useful information,
and on top of all that you do seem like a genuine bloke who wants to help not just get irate
and flame off all the time.We need people like you on here and in the union to keep us from
going insane waiting for things to be announced and putting forward balanced points of view,
even if there not always the same as mine.
