Leaving mail in

Walked in last week after my day off 2 loops still in the frame from the day before with lots of first class mail it's happening most days now in office are they in the right to do this also some days if we can't complete getting told to take everything out and bring back what we haven't time to deliver

Don’t expect anything to be done other heads buried in the sand hoping you’ll take it out free of charge.

Head into the office and tell them you want overtime to take it out.
Don’t give in to them, to get it covered (which is what they’re supposed to do) they would’ve done it themselves or paid OT for it. They’re in the wrong, don’t take the old excuse of ‘you’re going that way anyway so no need for overtime’

it happens all the time, first class and tracked parcels are just left on a delivery for 3 days. Ive also seen specials just left aswell. if it cant get covered its just left these days

I'm surprised that your DOM hasn't had a bollocking from higher up for leaving the tracked and especially for leaving the specials

Also ask them for a reasonable explanation as to why it was left and was it recorded!!! Myself I would explain to the dom you are tying up what was left and bagging it up and he has to deal with it as it's not your problem.

I'd be very surprised if the dom even recorded the failure!!! Also I can guarantee he/she either paid someone to do the specials and tracked or whoever was on the walk was told to make sure they cut off mail and make sure specials and tracked were delivered.

I'm not sure they care about the composition of letters left in the frame. Whether the DOM gets in trouble is based on how much a total percentage of the walk has been delivered or not. If the DOM delivers any of it that will affect the office budget for future years so you don't really want that to happen.
If nothing else gets delivered the SDs & tracked items have to be delivered. Heads, whether the Postie's or the DOMs, will eventually roll if they are not done. I guess you have staff shortages and/or sickness. RM runs the business on a shoestring and I don't see their attitude changing any time soon.

It's happening everywhere. It is privatisation and cuts to staffing levels, it's been going on for years. Just work your hours and cut off.

Isn't it about time DOMs get demoted for this?? Surely they are responsible for their own management team and if the team is not performing up to scratch then the DOM is directly responsible.
