When Are You Removed From a Stage Warning?

Post by LouBarlow »

Asking for clarification for a colleague, theoretically

He is issued a stage 1 warning on 1st January 2018

He is off sick for 2 days 1st March 2018

He has no further sicknesses or absences.

Is he removed from the process entirely on 1st July 2018 or 1st September 2018?

The national agreement doesn't seem clear in this regard. Thanks for any help.

It's 1st September. 6 months from your 1st sickness.

So you have to go 6 months in a row without sickness then. Thanks for the clarification. The agreement makes it sound like you have to go 6 months from when the stage is issued.

He is removed from the attendance procedure on 1st July 6 months after being issued a stage1. In the interim he has had a further absence of 2 days which has been better than the standards required by RM.
His absence record is clear but his absences are still active to be included for absence calculation purposes should further absences occur.

Brilliant. Thank you guys. So he is technically off his stage warning then but that absence he had back then would count again towards another stage 1 rather than now a 2? It is because a colleague has to have an operation and would rather wait it out by a few months if it would mean avoiding a stage 2 obviously.
