Better place if management never got a bonus ???

Do you think royal mail would be a better place if management never got a annual 10% bonus for savings.
It's just greed now for most managers to screw over the work force greed takes over ...

I think this has been posted in the wrong forum, but yes, I agree that it should be more an office bonus. Enhanced productivity has been linked with incentive. It baffles me that Royal Mail don't implement some kind of system like this, where each office is rewarded for hitting targets.

We’ve had things like that in previous years but they put the targets so impossibly high you can’t get near them and if you do they just raise them higher. After a couple of months people cotton on to the fact they won’t ever get a bonus so just go “bugger and good practices that the bonus was supposed to encourage just fall by the wayside.

Most definitely.

Anyone remember when there was a bonus scheme for the managers for getting all the tracked items delivered? The managers were stood at the door doing checks on all the posties to ensure they were delivering the tracked items. It lasted a few weeks, hit the magic number of 90 odd percent, and then forgotten about because the bonus has been paid and so staff bring back tracked items back all the time. Now we are getting Tracked failures.....

What lessons have been learned about this I wonder

Slightly off topic but does anyone remember pre privatisation when the company brought in private sector "expertise" in the form of Leighton and Crozier? The first thing they did was to give every manager a bung in order to get them onside for the war that was about to be declared on the workforce. I knew that we were in trouble from
that point on.

Got to agree. Its all they think about. A maximum of £3500 for the average statue, when all they have ever achieved of it, is £1200 for decades. Thats the figure for the top turds, an acting only gets enough for two visits to Kfc. They will never do any better, because their mates and family keep letting them down with their phones and unrecorded non attendance. Going out for an hour to show the new car or looking up flights on kayak isn't going to increase any bonus for someone who can't remember what happened yesterday. Knock it on the head.
