Good morning postie's,just wondering if any one can help me, in my office the manager is obsessed with 2D and tracked parcels,one or two of the walks have had bad percentage results with regards to scanning,so the manager has decided that he scans all the parcels himself before the duty has even gone out,is this allowed and if not who do I report him too,I ain't normally a grass but this manager has got it in for me so I want to give him a taste of his own medicine

How does that work ? I thought the point of tracked was to let customer know exactly when delivery was happening with text message, does he press delivered when u come back to office ? Our manager is obsessed too but not that bad lol

Wish he was as obsessed about getting wages correct

No it isn’t allowed and he should be disciplined for doing so. Customers who send these items are paying for a “doorstep scan”

Depends.

He is not allowed to scan and submit them as delivered unless they are.

But he is allowed to scan the 2d barcodes to see if they are working. Although not a regular thing to do, it could help identify if its an operator error, a scanner fault, a printing fault, or even just a check against a particular duty that has loads of failures when others don't.

As with most things it isn't as clear-cut as some would hope.

If the 2d will not scan at the delivery office then the chances are they haven’t been scanned anywhere in the pipeline. These will then not count towards the total for th duty.

I agree this fellow who scanned them in the office should be fired did you have any witnesses and was this just a lino or a DOM and do you have a union rep?

See whose scanner he is using if it's his own and against his name it's down to him if it goes missing. If this is what he's doing leave this parcel in the office. I can't see it as being willfull delay as according to the system it as already been delivered or at the very least been attempted to be delivered, so he should of form in boxed it. I think it might nip in the bud your doms behavior

Indeed that could be one of the things he may be checking.

Can't really scan tracked in the office as that sends a message to the recipient that they have received it which would cause confusion and distress. I suppose no probs on scanning the 2D as they are not followed up on to such a great degree. Sounds like your DOM needs to go for some training in communication skills.
