it sounded a great way to even deliverys out and give everybody a fair and manageable daily workload which would also improve the culture as people will not have arguments over finishing on time and o/t etc , , BUT I cant see this happening as it would upset the dims blue eyed gang and he wouldn't get his o/t covered and I cant see the company investing in offices if it is proved that they need more dutys putting in . and I think it will be used to take even more out of offices so all you can do is just do the job right and give them nothing and they can try what they want .

Already being used to ask us to do more which has caused numerous cut offs. For instance if you finished half hour early on a light Tuesday you are then told on a heavy weds/thurs or Friday to take extra which is then being brought back everyday . Great management .

The PDA data is going directly to the relevant Operations Manager, it's being used to drive budget cuts and later starts. Why would anyone think that this is a good idea?

how soon do you think the full impact of the PDA actuals will be felt?

Bearing in mind seasonal variations of mail volumes. Duty spans that are adjusted either way, based on information gleaned in the next six weeks will not be relevant from September onwards. Surely they can't constantly be adjusting delivery routes. Which leads me to believe very few deliveries will be shortened, but many will be added to if mail volumes allow.

What is going to happen to 'ghosting docket'? plenty in my DO manage to pad there duties out by taking the odd loop on a heavy day and half a duty on a light day. There has been an influx of new starters this week are they going to try and cut down the OT?

Later starts are probably going to happen in DOs irrespective of the PDA data, night shifts in MCs are failing (and not just a few sleeves or yorks) and it's not even the start of autumn yet. It's not going to be to long before night shift attendance times for full timers get shifted back a couple of hours to be 00:00-08:00 and DO attendance times will likely shift back a couple of hours as well, maybe even to the point where full timers are 9-5 or even 10-6 to accommodate LAT deliveries as part of duties.

theres no agreement to banking of hours , :wave
It’s not about banking hours , it’s about inept manager thinking the workload is the same on Tuesday and Wednesday and then not understanding why you have cut off.

its regardless what they think what you can do , so just do the job right , start on time use the kit and take your breaks , so be it they can give you as much work as they want but you have a finish time then its there problem to deal with simple ,finish time that's something they haven't taken away from us .

So this is where your pda actual's will fight your fight for you .

You can log up the delivery show where/when you stopped for your 20 min break ( because the other 20 you have before you leave) you can show where/when you stopped delivering and returned to the office , what time you got back to the office and when you logged out your pda , it'll all be there and no manager is going to be able to deny those facts .

There’s a huge difference in “equal workload” and the same amount of work taking different posties different amount of time to complete. If it’s truly about equal workload we all have to work at the same speed as the slowest postie?

And that's exactly what anyone who fly's round and makes time would argue if they try and put more work on them. Especially if it's off a duty that most people think is easily doable but the people on it go over and claim everyday. Simple conversation really, do I carry on completing and costing you no overtime or do you want me to work the same as the slower ones and cut off/claim. It's a can of worms not many doms will want to open despite pressure from above

They are free to argue that, it'll just come down to hours worked as the easiest metric for managers to monitor. The "slower" postie just could be doing the job correctly, so the faster ones of course have the option to work this way too.

Your telling me things I already know as this is how I work anyway .Im simply saying how my managers mind works regarding pda actuals and trying unsuccessfully to get us to do more work .
