Work place coach

Colleague has just got the job for our office after it’s been vacant for nearly a year,they never rush these things,seen and heard all the pros and cons related to this,just hoping it will bring certain people into line that get away with murder by being completely useless! What courses will he be put on ? What clout has he got

Your colleague will basically be a managers tea boy but at least they will get £30+ a week extra for making it!

Come on let’s not tar them all with the same brush. Some do a decent job and want to help people and make changes to the workplace for the better.

You need to be a brown nosed arse licker and make sure you bring the Dom an apple everyday. 40 quid for basically doing sweet f all.

No doubt there are a few good apples out there !
From experience and that offered up on RMChat they are mostly devious sorts.
The selection process is proof of their true function. Many good people get over looked for less able people !
There is a lot of politics utilised, like, keeping some on side and not for their talents in teaching new starts the art of postal delivery work. In most units they are hugely under utilised. So yes it was and is jobs for the boys and a lot of extra money for nothing. Fact !

Thanks for the feedback,just as I thought,was just keen for someone to do do it and take the money,but seeing all he is supposed to do not sure it’s worth it,or will even find the time to do it,as usual it will be under resourced and won’t be able to be done properly,,we’re a small unit that just gets on with it and runs itself,with little interference from above,and like many other places far too efficient for our own good,

I am sorry but i think they should do away with coaches all together and pay people when they do the training, it would save a fortune.
This may anger some coaches but i personally know of 5 in different offices that do nothing at all and get £30+ a week.
It is the normal postie who trains the new comers and gets nothing for it.
I have 2 in my office and yes they good but never get asked to do anything so what is the point?

Coaches doing nothing at Bristol now for months. Got one bloke getting coach money who hasn't even done the one week course. They got rid of team leaders so put him on coach money instead. He manages an area of 30 people for £39 a week. He is being shat on because they won't even make him an acting manager on £100 week. Probably is fraud by someone as he hasn't done the coach course.

I think they're actually a good thing, there's just too many of them in my opinion. There's 5 or 6 in my office and it's a relatively small unit!

There's 1 particular guy that's brilliant, he should be our Union Rep but he gave it up because of a few dicks in our office. Stands up to management, knows the ins and outs of everything and is on our side.

Same so much money wasted in our office nobody coached for months and if they do they are coached on the wpcs own duty lol instead of job they are going on. Still cant get my head around the huge amount of money this company are giving awAy for free . Helps if you are a brown noser , a grass, and devious.

We have had no new staff trained for about a year.

A few months ago when had a new starter and both WPCs were on holiday that week so the new starter was trained by someone who wasn't being paid any extra for it.

Only in RM!

New starts need help to get through the first few months the coach should be with them for that time doing the two duties, if you have another new start the coaching money should go to the postie who takes on the new start.
