Place of Work / Mobility Clause

Can someone clarify the place of work / mobility clause please?

I dont own a car and cycle to my DO, however this week my duty is in a neighbouring DO.

My manager has said I must go straight to the neighbouring DO at my normal start time.

Is this correct? Or should I go to my local DO first to get a van to make my way to the neighboring DO, which is a 30 minute drive away?

Pretty sure you should go to your depot first as that's your normal place of work and they should be providing you with a means of getting to the neighbouring depot; be it a van or management giving you a lift.

Sounds like your DOM is taking the piss. And if they try and get you to use your bike, I'd cycle very very slowly and probably have a couple of imaginary punctures on the way

Normal depot. Sign in on start time. Up to them to transport you to the other office.

You start work at your contract DO at your usual start time and the managers will either give you a van or expect you to drive to the neighbouring depot in your own vehicle (if the latter then ask about claiming mileage as you are entitled to this). They are supposed to pay you for your time driving there and back. Don't let anyone take advantage of you or you may get messed around.

Oh and if you do not want overtime, make sure you get back to the other office early enough so you can get back to your home office at finish time.

You go to your DO at your usual time or later if the other office you are being sent to starts later. They are messing you about so even if you have your own car you should state you want the DOM to arrange transport there and back for you. You will also have to finish earlier at the other office to allow time for you to be brought back to your usual DO.

And if you want to use it. Can easily refuse to use your own car.

Glad I can claim for the extra hour and twenty minutes on top of my finish time and extra travel expenses ... There was no mention of it.
