Pay X
• 5.4% from Oct 1st
• £175 Lump Sum
• 1.5% from April 08 if agreed changes are implemented
Vote for a below inflation pay rise with our ESOS money used as a bribe (remembering RM made a big profit this year)
Security X
• MTSF, Conduct code, Attendance procedure safe guarded
• D2D agreement will go out to ballot – Significant move from Royal Mail
• Union Influence throughout document
Union sidelined by bullying management everything else ignored by management (as is what is happening now)
Pensions X
• De-Coupled from pay deal
• 60 Day legal consultation IS UNDER WAY
• ALL members will have chance to take part in most informed debate union has ever had
• ALL members will get a vote at the end of the consultation period

Final salary pensions gone and everyone to work until 65 as said by RM management already
Flexibility X
• Royal Mail have moved back from demanding 2 hour flexibility
• LET’S ALL WAKE UP – THE FLEXIBLE ELEMENT OF THIS AGREEMENT COULD BE NEGATED BY US SIMPLY DOING OUR JOB PROPERLY.
• NO CARS ON DELIVERY, TAKE YOUR MEAL RELIEFS, WEIGH YOUR BAGS, AND DON’T COME IN EARLY. If you do all of this there WILL BE NO ROOM FOR FLEXIBILITY!!
Doing your job properly will result in action being taken against you (happening in my DO already) RM forcing you to finish your delivery (under threat of suspension) and not to book any OT for it (just bank it up for whenever it's light)

Vote yes and get official sanction from the union to shaft all it's members

VOTE NO

If, a word I'm not too keen on when it comes to agreeing something with snides like Crozier.

1.5% IF change is implemented by Apr08. Not what I sacrificed 8 days pay for.

Having to depend on a multitude of idiots to do the job properly IF flexibility isn't to be introduced, thereby guaranteeing we do not receive the
full 6.9% pay rise. Not what I sacrificed 8 days pay for.

It's a massive thumbs down both to the deal, and the CWU leadership from me I'm afraid.

Thats fair enough mate, just got it from poster in my office and put it up for a balanced debate. Also found the SWP vote no one and posted that as well - incidently that is full of equally as much spin as well!!! - if not more

Yeah, I took a peek at that SWP one, seems like they're more interested in having a chunk of our union's money to fund themselves with. The way I see
it, lovejoy, we've settled for too many naff deals in the past, deals that didn't match up to the sacrifices each and every member made at that particular time.
Just for once, the membership should reject yet another so-so deal, and together we should go for broke in an attempt to win ourselves a deal that we feel
justifies the IA we took.

Perhaps a more balanced debate would have been to publish both.

Actually I was eating a biscuit when I read it and almost choked. If I could just paraphrase:

"the sign of a good leader" - there has been NO sign of any leader before, during or after this action.

"Pensions X
• De-Coupled from pay deal
• 60 Day legal consultation IS UNDER WAY
• ALL members will have chance to take part in most informed debate union has ever had
• ALL members will get a vote at the end of the consultation period "

Nowhere does it mention the agreed procedure as notified to D Ward of the 12th Oct. Informed debate? Whats to debate it stinks BUT members will get a vote at the end of the consultation period - the wording smacks of duplicity - what will the vote be on? Agree or disagree OR either/or.

Vote YES In National Ballot

Pay X
• 5.4% from Oct 1st (not Apr 07)
• £175 Lump Sum (where's our £419)
• 1.5% from April 08 if agreed changes are implemented

Security X
• MTSF, Conduct code, Attendance procedure safe guarded ( no to be discussed )
• D2D agreement will go out to ballot – Significant move from Royal Mail
• Union Influence throughout document (union capitulation, more like)

Pensions X
• De-Coupled from pay deal (not what RM say)
• 60 Day legal consultation IS UNDER WAY (farce)
• ALL members will have chance to take part in most informed debate union has ever had
• ALL members will get a vote at the end of the consultation period

Branch Position
It is never easy to recommend or reject a deal as major as this. YOUR representatives have voted unanimously to recommend a YES vote in the forthcoming ballot on the basis that we 100% back the national union and we feel now is the time to settle this dispute.

We have weighed up ALL of the factors and we are making an informed judgment call. It would be easy for us to point fingers and to call for more. Some people think the sign of a great union leader is how they get members to follow them onto the street for strike action. We feel it is equally as important to be able to judge when to call your members back in. For us that time has to be now.
IT’S TIME TO SETTLE AND GET OUR TEETH INTO THE PENSION CONSULTATION BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

whether its a no vote or yes vote matters little to rm. the 5.4% will be in your pay the week after the ballot ends and the strings will be pushed through by ea. unofficial is the only way to go, but i think even this will only delay the inevitable. our pegasus man seems to think 5 hour deliveries are on the way, apologies to those of you that already do them.

So by inference BILLy and Dave think they are great union leaders.

Personally I think A good and effective union leader should be capable of taking overwhelming membership support and by astute use of tactics and determined negotiation succeed in securing improvements for their members ,however outrageous the assault on their jobs.
As for the rest of it ,it's already been said.

Sounds like they already have taken a f***ing great bite out of it.
By the way I`d really like to know how this pension ballot (which we are so faithfully promised) will be worded.
A series of carefully worded options which all amount to the same thing, that being (as we know) no final salary scheme + you`re all f****d.

those that already do them choose to. they start early , skip their meal break, use their cars and are out of the office 5 hours before the end of their duty. this is where rm got their ideas of flexibility from.
