The Voice : Terry Pullinger

Post by POSTMAN »

Over recent weeks CWU national officers, Postal Executive members and senior field officials have been working exceptionally hard to finalise details of the Implementation Plan to oversee deployment of our Four PillarsAgreement.
The Plan has been broken down into anumber of phases, with the first commencingon 1st April and concluding on 1st October2018 – the date for the introduction of theinitial one-hour reduction in the working week.

It is hugely important that we honour our commitments in the agreement, ensure we maintain momentum, secure the benefits for our members and re-design RMG in amutual-interest way, with an improved cultureand a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay.

The Implementation Plan has been shared with our divisional/territorial representatives and senior field officials, who will be responsible for cascading the information down to our area/branch representatives and allow divisions to co-ordinate the deployment activity and provide feedback to the national officers.

Looking ahead, the department is also developing a wider implementation plan to set out the work needed to deploy the agreement after October 2018 and the required activity we need to undertake relating to pensions, culture, competition, regulation and the gig economy.

We have created a huge agenda, but it isvital that we keep our eye on the prize, deploy our agreement in full and help deliver a better and secure future for Royal Mail and its employees.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
