D2ds prep time
Had argument with Dom last week as I said we should have d2ds prep built into our day as my walk and a few others regularly get5-7 a week whilst a lot of walks get1 or none regularly yet I get no more time.he said that we all get about 11 mins a day! Which I said is ridiculous, is there an official guideline for prep as he insists it doesn’t take long! Yet how is it possible to get them done with 10mins. A day!

6 lots of d2d would take me 30 mins plus to prep per day. I totally agree the prep times agreed are totally laughable, but that is consistent with a lot of timings with this company.

Our office is the same. Half the walks generally get less D2Ds than the other walks. Worse case scenario half the walks get six items & the other half get none but usually one half gets more. We all get paid the same - not starting the discussion again here on whether we get paid to D2Ds here.
When/if the new delivery methods are introduced we will all be delivering an equal percentage of D2Ds every working day which may include Saturdays. Currently every office runs it differently and most have a free hand as long as they all get delivered. For example I deliver the majority of them on Mondays unless it is my day off.

I have little idea what 'One Plan' is about. I think its similar to 'World Class Mail' and 'Consignia' - just more #royalmailfail.matthew68 wrote:Thanks, so are we expected to completely clear section every day regardless of letters or not as Dom says we need to clear frame as part of one plan and if so. Consignia was the name RM was changed itself to in 2001, and then promptly changed back to RM about 18 months later!Celgar wrote:I have little idea what 'One Plan' is about. I think its similar to 'World Class Mail' and 'Consignia' - just more #royalmailfail.
It was a totally pointless corporate rebranding which cost around £2 million at the time!
Google will tell you more.

I use to do all Monday and Tuesday but but Dom says 1 sixth per day should be cleared as one plan we have to put a flip chart on our frame claiming we have checked and cleared everything! Th the logic is just not there they seem to be awkward just for sake of it , mind you we will see if he will carry on when I cut off come September!Celgar wrote:Our office is the same. It is infuriating. Yet another case of every DO being run in a different fashion. I think most posties would not want to have to prep and deliver a whole sixth of D2Ds on a Saturday and would much rather see them cleared asap earlier in the week. I think a lot of problems within RM boil down to a complete lack of trust on both sides. They don't trust us and treat us like idiots or infants. We don't trust them given so much they say is often lies or falsehoods.

Most of us have done this in the past but it's one of the many things we need to put behind us, we start on time and finish on time!Celgar wrote:I think most posties would not want to have to prep and deliver a whole sixth of D2Ds on a Saturday and would much rather see them cleared asap earlier in the week.

I suspect a lot of people are nesting their D2Ds which is why it takes longer. I do a row a day (140 slots) and even with 6 it only takes about 15-20mins.
