Hello does anyone know why a postman of 32 years got dismissed?
All it states he didn't follow office door to door unaddressed mail protocol?
If that true what is this so-called protocol?
Thanks

Deliver the specified amount on the correct days, no skipping houses because there's no mail and catching up later in the week?
Hope it works out well for the postie, D2D delivery seems a very hot toplc at the moment

Be interesting to hear what this is about. Would imagine that it’ll be down to either ‘nesting or not completing a % in a day. Also be interesting to find out who triggered the disciplinary action as if the postman was following office protocol that isn’t inline with RM policy then surely the DOM is for the high jump as well.

If it's because he was nesting or not doing every call on a certain day they would be able to get rid of the majority of postie's! As long as they are all done by the end of the week what's the problem?GRS wrote:Be interesting to hear what this is about. People moan about going to houses without mail, just do it, if it means cutting off or overtime all the better

i think the problem is not every single house gets D2D. They now want you to deliver 17% with none left in the frame.

absolute pish our office mgmt let people roll them over for weeks
its an absolute farce if we threaten to cut off mgmt tell guys to stream d2ds and stream mail in frames
they DO NOT report failures
also on lapsed duties d2ds not taken at all
if i were the swansea office i would be asking for audit in to the whole delivery structre in rm nationally as their mgmt are bending the rules and failing USO on daily basis
CWU should be all over this as rm are now breaking national agreements but they have their heads in the sand as it affects mgmt relationships with themselves

Does anyone actually know the proper process for d2d as it seems different offices have different processes which seems silly

Yeah, me and my partner saw the light and talked about this last week. It's obvious what's coming or, rather, in view of events in Swansea, what's already here.A2B wrote:Because they are not getting done? The days of not going down a path with a d2d because they have no letters and maybe doubling up on the next one that does etc are gone. PDA Actuals are going to see if you've been down those paths or not and, if it was a d2d day and you didn't, they're going to bust you if they want to.
In the past I may or may not have followed d2d protocol in order to get the duty done in a sensible time, especially in December. But now it's going to have to be done properly and that means one of two things. More overtime for me or even more mail coming back that I haven't time to deliver.
This is all going to get very interesting. If we all start doing the job properly it's going to cause RM some headaches. People have been cutting corners, d2ds being one of them, to save time and get the job done. If RM are going to start, and it looks like they have, penalising people for this, then a truer picture of how impossible our jobs can be at times will surely emerge? There is certainly going to be a lot more mail being left or coming back that needs covering. Good luck with that now they're only paying for what you do and the days of two, three hours for a loop are coming to an end...again, due to PDA Actuals.
There's going to be a s**t storm coming, is my guess and this is the start. I think Union Reps are going to be very busy over the next few months and the lead up to Christmas.
Sooner or later, a beat dog bites.
