Health & safety ?

As we know royal mail are lets say upping the anti on H & S.wearing the orange hi vis on top of a bright red polo shirt in this hot weather is crazy,it attracts the heat and is unbearable,you can spot the red polo shirt a mile off no difference to a high vis in my opinion,oh and this baffles me why hasn't EVERY van in royal mail got a small basic first aid box ?

re 1st aid box was told would cost too much as we would steal contents
i think rm could be breaking h&s insurance by not having one as it is considered piece of work equip and workplace

They bang on and on about H&S in these very hot conditions... then they give us double lapsing and 20 mins WTL this morning ,delaying us from getting out that bit earlier and ensuring we're out for longer in the hottest part of the day.

I think you’ll find the hi viz is for when your in the yard,I certainly don’t wear mine on delivery,I certainly see lots that do,

I certainly think the polo could be made from a much lighter material,but as always it’s a cost issue and we’re probably not worth spending a fortune on just like the useless so called wet weather gear,

The blue shirt does not fit average sized women like me. They are like a tent on me. Having it tucked in is uncomfortable. I am looking forward to the women's sholo that RM are bringing out soon.

A breathable fabric would be good.

Wearing the red polos and the thick grey shorts is torture in this heat. Very cruel of RM to expect this of their workers, especially when we are having later days.

The silver Royal Mail logo on the back seems to be a heat magnet as well. I'm constantly asking my van share partner if I have a sweat patch where the logo is (classy I know).
