this is live in our area now , lets see if its as good and the agreement is binding as the cwu and royal mail have agreed to , ie , levelling dutys and opgs working there paid hours , using the tools, and a FAIR and MANAGEABLE WORKLOAD for all , and everybody taking breaks , or will this be swept under the carpet like other stuff that doesn't benefit the company .

Tea breaks are meant to be a legal requirement now and supposed to be enforced in the new agreement 20 minutes or the full 40 can't see how they can brush that under the carpet .

If your DO is off the radar so everything is getting delivered and there are not cock-ups with tracked/SD items or stuff like failing audits and RTCs you will be fine. If you draw attention or posties are 'swinging the lead' then RM will use new tech like the PDA actuals to sort things out.

No One is off the radar now. We have a small unit in our area showing up at 80+ hours under a week This week its being looked at for absorbing two duties. They have no problems every week and have been off the radar for years.

I think what I wrote is true but that isn't to say that I trust RM and it may well be that we all fall under the hammer eventually.

Got the brief today that actuals are in, half of you are making time, job and knock is dead (they say it’s for real this time).

I have been saying that but 'slow down' or even don't rush your **** off is not a popular idea. Trouble is if posties carry on doing this and PDA actuals data is collected for XX period of time RM could turn up at a later date and use that to take hours or walks out of offices. If Postie's start doing the job 'properly' from when PDA data is officially turned on then RM don't have the stats to use against us & they may even have to add hours or walks into offices. Try convincing Postie's of this though and it's like climbing Mount Everest!

If it flags these problems up, then how can it sort anything out without a complete revision and subsequent re-sign ,just for the workload alone. Okay fair enough some people skip procedural matters, but not everyone does ,and it's always those that take their time and do a steady flow and effective job , that are/were the brunt of criticism by managers desperate to cover jobs by any means. Nothing will change for the better ,it never does.

Aye. Official word from the union is J&F is dead. A lot of posties still are not listening though.

Wish it was true. I seen a regular ride past me on his bike today at 12. Same as the day before and the weeks before that. Job and jack is still going for a selected few

They still have the job and finish mentality. It may be that if posties get in early that RM is still getting it's money's worth. But they don't see it like that as they want to cut back on costs from the workforce getting paid additional allowances for work done in the night.
