Calling all budding photographers! The CWU’s education & training department is once again running a digital photography competition that is open to all CWU members and their families, with a top prize of £200 for the overall winner.

The competition has consistently attracted a high standard of entries, with two-times previous winner – Durham postman Dave Gibbon – not only going on to reach the finals of the Natural History Museum’s wildlife photography competition, but last year having some of his work featured in the BBC Wildlife Magazine.

Last year’s winner was Gloucestershire Amal Branch member Tim El-Shawk, whose stunning image of a waterfall in full flow was singled out for first prize by a national poll of CWU members visiting an online gallery of the shortlisted entries.

This year the same mass-voting mechanism will be used to select the overall winner of the 2018 competition, which has four all new categories.

Deliberately open to individual interpretation to whet the imagination, those categories are: ‘Rising’; ‘In Numbers’; ‘In Letters’ and ‘It’s in our Nature’.

Entrants can enter as many of the four categories as they wish – but only one photo can be entered into each category.

The deadline for entries is September 30. For full competition details visit https://education.cwu.org/news/cwu-digi ... tion-back/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
