Accident at work- feel abit left out to dry!! (Newish to the company) help and ideas very welcome!!!

Hey guys, just looking for some advice really on a situation....I've been in the company for 9 months at the moment. But unfortunately i had an accident on duty in my 7th month (march) So currently on SSP

In early January i started with a sore leg, it was causing alot of pain and affecting my daily duties so i went to the docs- got put on the sick and told to rest up as this would ease it....after many different tablets amd three weeks worth of 'resting' there was still no improvements, so the docs referred me to physio via the NHS for 'weak muscles'. This did nothing- while still having treatment Ive slipped at work and broken my hip, which has brought to my attention the NHS miss diagnosed the issue- but there's nothing to be done about this now other than recover for a longggg time!!

While i have been getting the treatment from the NHS royal mail obviously tried to do thier bit......here is where i need advice:
After having my three weeks of rest i went back to work on light duties - basically i didnt go doing rounds for a few weeks, just putting d2ds in and taking out specials.
Between having the sick week and returning to work i had 1 meeting with my manager....who referred me onto the inhouse Occy health as they could provide the physio potentially needed in a faster time frame. The Occy health did a basic assessment and treated me under the Nhs diagnosis- but they offered silly advice like 'do your round with two crutches where possible' and eventually build back up to full rounds > i had one further meeting with my manager after this 1st occy health do discuss their report and that was it?

In all this time from Jan to March (when i had my accident on duty)
i had 2 *official office door shut* meetings where we discussed the Occy health referall and assessment
I was never provided with a rehab plan to follow- just a case of see what was left to do each for the majority of the time

I get told on a daily basis (from various royal mail colleagues) that the union should provide help and that i have a case of workplace negligence/wrong doings etc, yet the union has taken basic (very very basic) information and told me there's nothing they can do? No legal case and nothing to argue?
And to top it off my office still haven't filed the accident report form, i have had one call from my Dom since March and have just been in the hands of the line manager.

I do apologise for the lentgh but its a hard story/situation to put across
Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated as all i have left in my knowledge to do is put grievances in against thr variety of people involved? But that will probs lead to nothing to!

It sounds like you need to speak to a solicitor you should be able to get a free 1st consultation at certain ones through the cwu but to suggest you do delivery on crutches that person is incompetent

If your local reps aren't helping I would suggest contacting the Area Safety Rep, in fact I would do this anyway as it looks like a complicated case.

I'm sure there's a secret management league somewhere. You accrue points by seeing how badly you can treat someone. Biggest c*** wins.

Arseholes. 1 phone call from .com since March because your on ssp and it's not coming out of his budget. Also whoever said try doing your walk using 2 crutches needs a good slap or your at the wind up as a broken hip takes months to get back to normal. If true make sure you take it all the way as your .com sounds an idiot it be can't even put it in the accident book. Also why is the union not fighting for full sick pay as the sickness is caused by an accident at work and then you don't need to have been there a year to get RM sick pay. Keep us posted.

Union line for a claim I think. They’re very good. At least the lawyer who dealt with my case was.
