its started in our office and its put on each day ''regardless''.... they are quoting the figures and we all know they are talking rubbish. but its costing them every day bar Tuesday. about 3 quarters of duties are handing back, and those that don't are booking overtime for going over. so whoever hands back, their lapsing is covered on overtime as well. they are asking people to hand back some of their OWN delivery, so long as they do LAPSING!! wtf?.. we booked 35 mins each on Wed, 20 mins Thursday, and 25 today. it makes it a complete mockery of the ''lapsing'' definition. even the gaffers were called out to do deliveries in other nearby offices so it must be happening elsewhere. what a farce, so why?? anyone else getting this madness?

Happening in our office too. All the guys that start on time don't have time to do lapsing but the early starters all take it. This is fine in theory but the guys that do the job correctly are getting the intimidation tactics thrown their way which is soul destroying having to face that every day. Overtime your lucky if you get paid for it every since they removed the overtime sheets from the sign in area and you now have to agree before departing the office.

Whole place is a disgrace.

Our summer lapsing starts next week but it won't be on every day.

Yep it’s s cluster f..k! Goalposts being moved on a daily basis,re traffic figures ,its wearing a bit thin now,all good will now gone ,Dom trying to look good at our expense,a sign of things to come I guess,we start doing things by the book he thinks we’re being awkward,oh well,maybe stay at our office a bit more and manage it then!

I’m the only one doing the job properly in my office, I don’t take the absorption and boy do I get s**t for it from the dim. You need to be brave and stand up for what you believe in.

Lapsing seems to be year round in MCs, no matter what the content of the duty being lapsed

Two duties being lapsed at the moment and there hasn't been a day where everything has gone out - so the plan is for more duties to be lapsed soon. One of the duties is in the town centre, so there have been up to 5 vans trying to park in the main roads!!

if as the poster says, they are claiming o/t most days whilst lapsing, your argument to the manager, goes as follows, " if your figures are telling you, we have time to lapse, please explain, why most of the office are claiming o/t or bringing work back?? and is he of the opinion, that most of the office are not meeting the required standards, or are his traffic figures a crock of shite!!! and why is the rep not jumping all over this???

Well done that man,I salute you,but what a carry on isn’t a constant battle everyday no doubt,doing it properly and they think your just being awkward no doubt,such a shame how this job has become

Brilliantly put my friend,he may have to ring round his fellow managers to concoct a half decent reply,I dare say they have been briefed for just such a question!?.
