Repick after revision

Office has gone through a badly organised revision now a repick as started. A lot of grumbling over the number DDL in the office . All asking or been given for single driving duties. Not questioning the DDL's , but seems to be no attempt to pair them up on walks ,any thoughts or people gone through the same scenario

What does DDL stand for ? It's probably obvious but I can't think.

Does he mean DDA. Disabled Discrimination act.
Duties that have adjustments made To suit the capabilities of the persons affected. Normally ring fenced in repicks. I stand to be corrected if I’ve got it all wrong.

were in the middle of a revision....and many years being in the job ive never seen it like this.....

the amount of staff "dda" now <---- oops sorry

its gunna be close that in an office of 40 walks upto 1/4 are gunna be ddl duties.....

They have to accomodated otherwise the company can be taken to court, or the union in the case of a repick. There is no doubt that some people take full advantage of the situation, but the law is the law.

It would be nice if " Barry the Bastard " returned to clarify his posting on DDL which has also been mentioned by " Centenaryman" as totally confused.
Applying my Sherlock Holmes head the A and the L are at the totally opposite corners of the letters in the middle row of the keyboard so can it be a simple misprint expected to be DDA or is this another 3 letter acronym much favoured by RM.

One wonders about Royal Mails acronyms. Take PSP for example. Is it Paint Shop Pro or Progressive Supranuclear Palsy??

I agree with the OP and I suspect they mean DDA - those covered by Disability getting 1st preference in a re-pick. Years ago if you couldn't do the job properly outdoors then you were often given a cushy little number indoors, like working in the Callers Office.

If people are covered under the Equality Act then it is nobody else's business.
They don't have to explain anything to anyone.
