well the benefits are not paying for the sell outs and having the same crap deal.
forever decreasing wages- worse working conditions- same old gravy train leadership in joint venture with the management all delivered by our very own top union MANAGEMENT BILLY MONEY BAGS HAYNES AND COMPANY.

You haven't got the crap deal yet have you. Members have a chance to tell the union leaders to shove it. They can reject it in the ballot. Non-members don't have a say.

Please don't judge all the union on the mistakes of two men we all have a say on the deal if we all stand together we can still put the wrongs wright.

To be fair i and no doubt loads of you have had loads of benefits by being in the union,just having my rep clued up and on the ball is a MASSIVE benefit.
Yes a lot of us are pissed at the deal,but what would it be WITHOUT them!!!

But if your in the union you are Â£3 a week worse off BUT you do have representation when you need it, you can get various discounts at high street stores. You get to see an opposing view of Royal Mails propaganda (not on the offer though I grant you). You get the knowledge and support of the union and its members. Best of all when you need it you have the Solidarity of other members. Finally you get a say on who runs the union - you don't get that with Royal Mail.

thats right we still have a vote to reject this deal , stick with the union you,ll need em one day soon they are all out to get us, not that i am paraniod

The benefit of being in the union is simple. If you are not in it, you can't change it. I'm facing a stage 1. After 7 years of lugging these declining mail volumes around, my back has finally given out twice in the last 6 months. At least I've got a decent rep that will come in with me and fight my corner. I don't hold out any hope that I'll be successful, but I've got the support. No union, no support, no chance. Without them RM would walk all over us!
Just because the union bosses are useless doesn't mean the local reps are. They do a great job and now they are on the receiving end of a load of abuse from the membership. Well just think how much worse off we would be without them.

their is absolutely no benefit to not being in a union
if everyone thought that they would save their subs
then we would have every change imaginable introduced
we would not get any pay rise until the competition had caught up to us
and we would have no say in any workplace issues

on the stage warning
management may ignore everything the rep says in the stage 1
and issue it automaticaly
but the benefit of what the rep says in a stage 1 or 2 shows up in
the stage 3

for a manager to ignore a valid reason to not issue a stage 1
gives a better chance at a stage 3

I dont know about you lot but i for one would have been sacked about 25 years ago if not for the union its one of the few left in this Country with any clout. There's change to come, 'change' being a euphemism for job losses but personally ive had a bloody good run.
I feel for the young un's more than anybody else struggling away with whopper mortgages but even after the changes i believe it'll still be a better place to work than most private companies.

there are some great men and women in this union time for them to get the top jobs

keep the money in your pocket. if you need legal help if you get attacked by a dog or injured on duty go to one of those claim specialists, you will get your money 3 years earlier and more Â£Â£Â£Â£Â£Â£

and if you get into trouble elsewhere consult a solicitor specialising in employment law, will cost you a fraction of what you pay these muppetts.....

Please be so kind as to point me in the direction of a solicitor that will charge me less than Â£3 a week for this service. I am sure everyone else on here would be interested we could get them to check over some of the proposals and working practices.
