The relocation money paid when moved to a closer office

Hi, this isn't to do with travelling expenses, but the one off payment triggered when your office is merged with another one that is closer to your home - ergo, you are travelling (even slightly) less to and from work each day.
Can anyone tell me if this is a fixed rate nationwide (apart from say London) or would it be possible say for two different mergers within 10 miles of each other getting £200 and £700 respectively.

Again, this isn't to do with travelling expenses - it's the 'one off' inconvenience payment you get for having to change office.

To answer your question, it depends entirely on how long it currently takes you to get to old work location and also your current costs involved in doing so vs the new time taken to new location and costs in doing so



The 'inconvenience payment' factors in the additional travel time if your costs don't actually change. So in reality, yes, it is possible that two separate units moving within ten miles of each other could see different levels of payment.

Will it cost you more to travel to new office? - yes = cost of annual travel pass, multiplied by two and then multiplied by three (annual cost is doubled to account for tax and nation insurance you pay)

Will it cost the same, but take more than 15 minutes travel time in each direction? - yes = one off payment of £800 as lump sum for disruption

Will it cost you the same or less, but take less than 15 minutes extra travel time in each direct? - yes = one off payment of £150

Within the same office, it's possible to see people getting only £150 and others triggering the £800 payment. It is all to do with if it takes you more than fifteen mins additional travel time in each direction to get to your new work location.
