PDAs actual and taking a break

Now pdas actual is here what’s the script with taking a break? Can you take a break at home if it’s on route or the local cafe etc or will this be seen as slacking?? Or breaking policy?

I always take my break on delivery,In the winter on a 5 hour delivery it's good for my health and safety to go in somewhere warm for 30 mins to have a cuppa etc.

i think there could be an issue with you taking mail out with you and essentially "taking it home". If the managers actually notice this is what youre doing when they track your PDA theyre probably not going to approve it purely for security reasons unless you can get them to agree before they find out. Going to a cafe is a much better option, otherwise generally its your break you can do what you want, as i said the only issue is the security of the mail if you go out of the office with it.

I have never taken a break before I go out or have never stopped and taken break out on delivery, if over either clame it! Or tend to have my break at home as I'm on 10hr 4 day week!, As for the office as a hole they never take breaks before they go out!

It's a legal requirement to have a break if you work more than 6 hours!

Your entitled to a break full or part time, if you haven't been taking one, now is the time to take your allocated break. I have always taken my break.

There is no change at all. Whatever you do now, just keep doing the same.

Being spied on or tracked or whatever makes no difference to anything, as long as you don't do anything you shouldn't.

Personally i wouldn't be taking breaks at my house while in possession of mail now let alone when you know your movements could be watched

Can I point out I don't have a break at home in the possession of mail it's during and after my rural delivery with a 50mins break then collections and finish 19.00!,10hr 4 day week!! It's a 1.3 sat off!,18 yrs service

If you pass your house in a van and leave mail locked in back safe and secure and go in you house for a break I can’t see any difference from leaving it on end of street to do loops . So I say it’s ok to go home for a break.

PDA's or not you all 'should' already have your breaks built into your duties.If you have not got where, when and how in said duties, then something is very wrong.
