Corrupt Reps...

Where do we stand? Reps are now becoming managers, I.E telling us when we are able to take our breaks, when we can leave the office to begin delivery, telling us to stay out later to complete duties, claiming double OT/hours when a indoor Job/PHG duty should be up for the taking by a Postie on his days off. Just generally not giving a hand when at the end of the day THEY should be on OUR side.

Its becoming a joke, we pay to be into the union not to be shat on by people, whom are meant to support us when a problem occurs...

I agree it's a problem , our rep is overseeing our revision and everyone can see he is looking after himself and his few mates . The worst thing is the area rep knows this and turns a blind eye while the office is constantly arguing about it all the time.i know from speaking to guys at other offices that this is a common issue.The answer of course is to have a vote of no confidence but no one wants to get involved or take his place.

Everybody in my office is scared to say anything as he will hold them in the office, or just make them absorb weather that be indoors or outdoors. Basically being an asshole.. they work along side the managers making their life easier & “US” as posties harder!

Reps now what can we say about them, snides, arse lickers, sub humans, cone heads, reptiles, basically they are not managers Thier pretend managers with no power what so ever, they can't tell anybody what to do, bloody low life's. Just to sum up tell them to f....k off !!!!

I feel for you guys, but not all reps are like that.

The rep in my office is almost the polar opposite, and it is a sight to see when he is storming towards the DOM or lino. Let's just say, he's no RM lapdog.

We used to have a few Cub Scout boys who regularly attend the weekly resource meetings and 3 finger salute their tall greasy pole within the confines of his office.

Our rep seems to enjoy the chaos with all the problems in the office. Its as if he wants a meltdown.

Our union rep holds us in the office even if the manager is willing to let us go... somedays the manager is not even present and he still keeps us in the office!! lol

How exactly does the union rep "hold" you in the office when the manager says you can go/is absent?

Is he using persuasive arguments with respect to taking breaks/not starting early/using the correct equipment and the impending impact of PDA actuals....perhaps with possible implications of more lapsing/more time prepping PT walks etc if you have time to go home early, or is he simply "ordering" you to stay? a genuine question.

Reps are people, some are selfish knobs others will go out their way to help people; just nature. Shouldn't judge them all. As it happens ours is pretty useless, he's not really interested but nobody else wants to do it so we can't complain.

I mistakenly mixed up union reps with work place coaches called them ( arse lickers etc) . Our union rep does a brilliant job and has to put up with lot of s**t from the Dom and us postie's. i sincerely apologise to all union reps. But I still think work place coaches are arseholes. SORRY. hothothot.

I always take my break, we can also prep up to 3/4 walks a day between less than 10 full timers & there is no absorbing to be done.... All that PDA data is to scare us do you really believe 100k posties are going to be watched.. it will be highlighted if there is an error or mistake. We are asked to cut corners in multiple ways i.e work through breaks which is ludacris!

Thought I'd seen it all with our rep until last week when he went into the office and grassed up one of his members for something as trivial as stepping outside the delivery office door. The lowest of the low.
