Re: sick pay
6 months in any 12 month period, so 6 months after you returned from your long lay off you would be entitled again.

No...you won't...it's based on a four year period.SexyLegs wrote:6 months in any 12 month period, so 6 months after you returned from your long lay off you would be entitled again.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

It's in a document called Royal Mail’s Personnel Manual which forms part of your contract.POSTMAN wrote:Just curious, where exactly does it say this.fishtank wrote:No...you won't...it's based on a four year period.SexyLegs wrote:6 months in any 12 month period, so 6 months after you returned from your long lay off you would be entitled again.

Re: sick pay
Contact HR they will inform you.
It's over a rolling four-year period. You are allowed one year off in four. Anymore - and you go down to no-pay.
Believe me I was staggered when I heard this...!

Why? Isn't one year off in 4 enough?Fatboyslim wrote:Contact HR they will inform you.

Re: sick pay
So what's that 6months full pay and 6months half pay, unless it's classed as injury on duty which i believe is 12months full pay.

Depends. You only need one serious illness/problem Or a run of bad luck - and you are on no pay. Nobody is invincible. I thought that three years ago - until something went wrong big style...Like you say "Isn't one year off in 4 enough"? Sounds excessive - until something happens. Believe me - it can happen.
