Dangers of a low rejection vote

Unison recently balloted for industrial action by local government.

UNISONs NEC voted 24-3 against taking action and to accept the latest offer of 2.475% or 19p per hour for the lowest paid.
This result of the ballot was in favour of action by a majority of 2% on a turnout of 24.4%.

So despite a vote for action, the union leaders called it off because the turn out was so poor and the majority was so slight.

This shows the danger of a low no vote in the royal mail dispute, we must maximise the no vote and the turn out otherwise Ward and hayes, who have already shown they do not want to fight any more will try and find an excuse to call it off.

no matter how many people tell you they are voting 'no' history says it will be a narrow 'yes', it always does. as somebody said on here before it is a cicilian ballot, an offer you can't refuse, what you can refuse in the months to come is to comply to the flexibility crap by following the guidelines and doing the job properly

I think you'll find the "doing the job properly" disappearing into the ether and the doing as you're told, in the nicest possible way, top of the bill.
