Can someone explain why is it that an office has an audit, they are informed in advance when this will take place?
Our office had an audit a couple of weeks ago, work that didn't leave the office for one reason or another was bundled together and put in bags and hidden in the back of a van, and the van was parked in a side street.
Needless to say our office passed, the Dom was over the moon and now walks around like the queen bee.
Since then walks are failing and work comes back daily, but no one gives a s**t.
Surely the auditors should turn up unannounced at the end of the shift and then walk around the office

They don`t really want to know, what going on.
That is why they get avance notice of up & coming audits.
Office is all clear, line manager is happy, audits are happy, head office are happy.
Every one is a winner.

It’s not just about clearing the office. Audits are a check on the office being compliant on a range of things such as vehicle log books being filled in., signing in and out , fuel card management etc etc. Basically a check on anything Rm requires to be done.

Audits are usually to do with checking all types of paperwork have been filled in correctly. They also check the 'health & safety' stuff as well such as wearing hi-vis and not leaving doors open etc. It's rare if not impossible to not be told beforehand that an audit is going to take place. The post office police are the ones that don't give a warning beforehand.

Ha!! Yes once again you can’t make this stuff up,real stuff that goes on on a daily basis,we had ours a week before Xmas,by two thuggish looking men,didn’t engage much with workforce who are at the sharp end of operations,I told them did they want to come when we were a bit busier!?..,he replied just as expected with “that’s how it is”!! We had a new guy new to the delivery office support role who’s training input from management is pitiful to say the least,but then the office runs itself to be fair we just get on with it,they seem to want to make a big thing of how an office runs,Mail arrives mai is sorted Mail gets delivered,simple.

we were told audits no longer happen so mgmt doing what they want
massaging figures ,ghosting ot,leaving mail ,streaming mail ,leaving parcels ,leaving office before time especially sat ,
all they care about is 1st time del figures and tracked failures as this impacts bonuses
anual leave and odd days owed to staff being denied and hours filtered into savings.
mail special del items pkts left in drop off boxes overnight
