The only way to be able to work your leave is to cancel it down in which case it should be advertised as a vacant space on A/L for someone else to pick. You can’t be paid as the system does not allow for DOM to pay someone twice for doing the same job, if they do work and it is paid then as far as I understand the DOM has to fiddle the figures and put so much through the books over a few weeks so they can basically lose those hours amongst other things. Apparently, from what I remember reading on this subject before it is fraud to pay someone twice and both managers and postmen have been dismissed for it.

You can't be paid if you volunteer to come in and work on your annual leave. You will get day/s in lieu to book at later date. If there are NOT days left available to book on your holiday list I would advise not volunteering to help out.

Why would anyone want to work their annual leave? Have they got nothing better to do? The system won’t allow it anyway.

Happens in our office a lot. What management do is have the person in on their rotational day off, on the leave week.
Beggars belief why people want to come in.....

Can’t be assed to come in when not on leave - let alone whilst on annual leave....
