Re: LATER START'S ARE FAILING FAST
I think that will be a bridge too far. There has been a suggestion that we should return to normal starts for Saturday by local agreement, the problem being we would be off IPS before the mail arrived @ 7a.m. Not everyone wants to start early on Saturday and later during the week. One or two have suggested that changing back is just to suit the football fans!k979aaa wrote:Later start's in our office are failing fast workload not alinged ie driver's waiting for postmen/ postmen waiting for driver's firm's reciveing mail at all hour's even seen uk mail delivering in our area never before THIS IS THE BIGGEST DISASTER SINCE OPERATION MARKET GARDEN WHEN WILL THEY PULL THE TROOPS BACK TO THE PREVIOUS TIME'S!.

2 deliveries was longer ago than you might think, and things have gone rapidly downhill since.blackadder wrote:public service has gone out the window with the later starts. the sooner we get back to 5.00 starts the better, in fact the sooner we have 2 deliveries and first delivery dun by 9.30 which aint so long ago the better. we a public service not a cash cow

Totally agree with the new hours being a disaster. We are leaving trays and trays of mail unsorted on the frames as we now dont have the time to do it all. Yesterday was a prime example : finished sorting at 8.45am instead of the 8.20am its meant to be, and we had loads of cut offs. DIM's dont give a monkeys about it anymore. Birthday cards and hospital appointments sat on frames undelivered. Have took video on my phone and may well send to local paper so people realise what this change has done to them

A "Bridge Too Far" was a film about Operation Market Garden at Arnhem in the Netherlands...............L Tommo wrote:WOT ABOUT...?freespeech wrote:Nice reference missed by many! I spent many hours walking through the graves of heroes in the sixties, have been over the bridges and once took part in the Nijmegen Marches. The war had been over just a year when I was born and the story of the failed operation but the magnificent effort was a source of some inspiration to me. I joined the army in 62 when I was 16. Strange that was in the sixties and now I'm in the sixties.
