Contract made up

how long do I have to be working over 35 hours a week to get made up to 35 hours? Since that’s going to eventually be full time hours. I just learned today that someone less senior to me got their contract made up. If there is a resign or a vacant full time duty advertised does this mean the person with less seniority gets it over me because their contract hours is higher? I think I have plenty of pay slips from last year to prove my working hours.

Why did somebody less senior than you get there hours up ,they shouldn't get your rep on the case of go higher if necessary

The duty I’m currently on, on paper, is a 30 hour duty. They added that much delivery on it that the overtime made it up for full time hours. That went on for 2 years. Only just after Christmas they took some delivery off it again so now it’s back down to a 30 hour delivery with very little overtime. I’ve been crying out to be put on a full time delivery since I’m the more senior person. There’s a few full time deliveries vacant with people of less seniority kept on them. And now the fella with a few years service gets his contract made up before me???? Do I have a strong case for a grievance here? I’m going to find my payslips from last year to back this up that my hours have continuously been 35 hours a week & over. I’m currently on a 30 hour contract.

It doesn’t matter how many hours you do or have been doing the only thing that matters is length of service so you should have been offered an hours increase before the other guy although if you have signed for a 30 hour job within the last 12 months you may not get anywhere with that?

No I haven’t signed for any deliveries. A few full time deliveries went up for signing last year which I didn’t get. Our union rep put in a request for all 30hour contract staff to be made up to 35, which was declined. Accept this fellas who is well down on seniority. So I can’t see what excuse they come up with to justify it.

Duties are signed on seniority regardless of the contract hrs offered or the contract hrs of the person going for the duty.
If someone below your seniority has signed for a duty that you or others above him/her could of had then it needs to be investigated.
