Saturday post box collection
This doesn’t sound right to me we empty post boxes on Saturdays now and until about a month ago it was just mon-fri,problem is when we get back to work the sack we’re we normally put collected mail has already gone to the mail, centre.our Dom says just put mail in box outside post office next door, problem is this has been emptied At 12 o’clock and no one is back that early! So it won’t get collected until mon! I challenged Dom about this but he said it’s ok as long as we empty boxes as normal ? This is surely bad service as someone who posted a letter and n Friday afternoon assumes it will be processed on Saturday not following Monday! I said to him what’s the point of us collecting if not going until mon£ay to which he said as long as we have scanned it collected and you put in box outside don’t worry about it! So much for customer service as I assume that people are sending 1st class letters and want t(em delivers on Monday , is this standard procedure on Saturday or is Dom notz doing job properly?

every weekend at our place, always 3 or 4 that arrive back after the last collection has gone, and even after the DO is shut for the weekend.

Agree and if we bring mail back they question it yet this happens every Saturday! It seems pointless even emptying box perhaps I should just scan it and leave mail until Monday !Jpro747 wrote:It’s wilful delay by management. Could try emailing moya

We had a similar situation a few years back. It only got addressed after a couple of test letters failed to get to the mail centre and the DOM was named and shamed in the daily conference call!! Ever since all our boxes have been emptied on a Saturday by a dedicated collection duty.

We don't collect on Saturdays, the mail centre does it.

I wouldn’t suggest it unless you want to be done for willful delay yourself.matthew68 wrote:Agree and if we bring mail back they question it yet this happens every Saturday! And for a Brucie (rip) Bonus contact the press.
Word of warning though, keep quiet about it for a while and don't make a fuss for the time being.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
