how much notice

been working since mid December and im sorry to say that ive had enough. how much notice do i have to give? PS not had any holiday leave yet

New contracts have to give 4 weeks notice, it will be in your contract.

a few reasons:
firstly, I find the stress too much:
time pressures around prepping and completing new walks on time
going over/cutting off etc plus the grief from the DOM when i say i cant complete or return with mail
the number of different walks, ive done 21 different walks(out of about 30 in the office) in last 2/3 months
and physical strain of cutting corners i.e. carrying heavy bags leaving hct for longer than necessary in order to get round quick i know i shouldnt but i honestly dont know how some walks are completed on time.
the real crunch came last week after a long day, going over and still not completing and getting a bollocking from the DOM.

maybe i was naive when i applied and some days are great but ive had enough.
I will miss the banter in the office. the other posties are hilarious at times and are generally very supportive and helpful

Is this really correct. If you are paid weekly then one weeks notice. I don't usually question TBT's judgement, but this seems excessive.

Yes, without sounding sentimental and patronising the posties are a unique and extremely funny bunch. many years ago i use to work on the docks and this has reminded me of those times. the moment i walk in that depot you are instantly met with a mixture of comedy and usually football related rivalry and abuse.the nicknames and banter however extreme, is honest and genuine. there are some real funny f***ers there. it really does remind me of the docks and i love it...but the rest of it is too much. part of me wants to endure it a bit longer but i feel im deluding myself. from my own relatively short time along with others and their more seasoned experiences i know that the best is over and its only going to get worse.
