Two items regular with the same tracking number what's revenue protection doing about them?

happens a lot, people / companies found that we just deliver them so are taking the piss printing out the same label twice. If you find them make your manager aware of it, 1 is supposed to be charged for.

Unless they are specials they could well each be scanned by a different person

yes but you don't spot them till your out on delivery

I've encountered this a few times, in all instances it was two identical packets from the same source to the same address. It's always possible the item has been mistakenly dispatched twice. I assume it doesn't get noticed going through the network because the tracking system presumes a one to one relationship between barcode and packet. The map is not the territory

Today I had a whistle package with an American code on including custom label and it was fake

Frequent event. 1 paid for the other copied ,advise DOM : shrug ,no action . Fraud but fine now do your OT for nothing. Bent ,broken and slipping down the pan

Only thing I've ever brought back was a letter with no stamp or franking whatsoever and an address that looked like it'd been written by a small child with a Sharpie.

I was more curious as to how it even got as far down stream as into my pouch more than anything. Manager looked at it, pulled a bored face, said 'uh huh' and chucked it on his desk and then walked off.

There is a direct fraud email to royal mail you can send a picture to (just can't find it atm).

I had one the other day (or should I say two). It was very naive of them to send two identical packets to the same address at the same time - scanning the same code twice asks if you want to remove it. The only thing in their favour was that I think the postage would have been the same if the two boxes had been taped together as one.

I have had this happen quite a few times although it isn't that common an occurrence. It usually involves a multiple number of identical 'tracked' parcels coming from the same sender on the same day. Will often be large or heavy parcels - garden fertiliser or Alpaca food - so it can be quite a lot of postage. Hard to say whether it is error or an intentional action.
As others have said it is usually only noticed when you are out on delivery and the PDA beeps at you. I keep some of those cards from the Yorks in the van to scribble reminders on while on delivery. Just write down the number of parcels involved along with the addressees and senders name & address which will both be on the postage labels. Then hand it in to your DOM when you return and they will report it. As far as I know it will then be chased up.

Take photos? Send emails? Write down address, senders address, you have to much time on your hands youth.
