How long does a duty have to be vacant before it can be advertised? I’ve been told 6 months, some duties have been vacant for going on 2 years. Management refusing to advertise.

6 Months or 5% of overall duties vacant whichever comes first.

That would depend on the medical condition he is on long term sick for and he at the end of the day would be able to continue with his duty.
