Hi all
On Thursday I managed (just!! - due to bad weather conditions / icy roads, etc!) to complete my 'shared van' delivery (although, as usual, it was only me doing the round, all the 'shared van' round collections, and the daily extra absorption and lapsing!!!)
On Friday I (and a few others) managed to get into the DO (in my case, by walking due to road closures, etc), did about 30mins D2D's / tidying, etc, before being sent home (no mail from mail centre).
Today I (and a few others) again managed to get into the DO and did about 90mins of D2Ds (for a number of rounds) and more tidying, etc, before being sent home (once again no mail from mail centre).
As a number of us went into work on both days, but worked less than our contracted hours (we were sent home and signs had been put up outside, by the managers, saying the DO was closed due to weather conditions), what is the 'official' agreement regarding what we should be paid please?
As we turned up for work, but were sent home early, should we be paid for our contracted hours?
I note, from some posts, that if you don't attend they may try and get you to take leave (paid or unpaid), but I couldn't see anything about what happens to your pay when you do attend (albeit for shorter hours).
The local managers have mentioned 'clawing' back overtime (e.g. some worked earlier in the week) or having to make up the time in the future! (presumably offset against any overtime worked in the future i.e. "You'll owe us XX hours O/T due to being sent home early"!)
Does anyone know what the RM policy or RM/CWU agreement regarding this matter is please (if there is one or, if not, what is the usual acceptable practice)?
Cheers in advance

Just a small technical point in case you have missed out any of the dialogue between manager and yourself in your posting.
If you were instructed to go home without any options for sending you home early such as a clawback of hours then you will be paid up to your finishing time.

At our place we were told to go home and deliver anything in our local area that we could. So do we get a days full pay, nothing was said about clawing back hours or anything like that. For the past 2 days there has been nothing to do except door to doors. Cant afford to lose out on pay!rehabron wrote:Just a small technical point in case you have missed out any of the dialogue between manager and yourself in your posting.

As long as they sent you home then you get a full days pay.
To further clarify rehabron, you only get full pay if the managers send you home with no qualifiers.
When you won't be entitled:
1. You just walk out the door.
2. You tell the manager you are leaving without being excused.
3. You don't complete a requested task before leaving.
When you will be entitled.
1. If the managers tell you to leave.
2. If the managers request you to complete a task (deliver local mail) and you agree and comply.
3. You stay at work, but don't perform any delivery, until your usual finish time.
When you will be entitled to pay but may owe hours (I'd fight it though).
1. When a manager says you can go home if you want and owe hours. You then leave knowing the provisions laid down.

As we turned up for work, but were sent home early, should we be
Our management got us all around the office today saying any excess we book next week won’t be being paid as we have been sent home earlier this week. Looks like mail will be piling up
