Leave Entitlement.

Can anyone tell me what annual leave I should be entitled to including Bank Holidays please? I have worked for Royal Mail for 12 years. Thanks.

I think it's 4 1/2 weeks. If you're part time, I don't know what it'll be for you

Bank holidays will depend on where you are in the UK but they are above and beyond your annual entitlement which is:

On entry = Four and a half weeks
After 5 years = Four weeks 3.5 days
After 15 years = Five weeks 1 day
After 20 years = Six weeks

Yes, and if your day off falls on a bank holiday you get it back as a day in lieu (pro rata for less than 4-day attendance patterns).

Or have it payed as overtime. I do as I know there is zero chance of getting a day off that I want

So now I'm being told that if my leave includes a bank holiday that I don't get it back in any way at all, pay or day off in lieu, is this right?

If your leave includes a bank holiday then the number of days taken off your leave is reduced accordingly - the system knows it is a bank holiday

So if it say bank holiday monday and you have a week off ( and you work 5 days) the system only takes 4 days off your leave card

so you don't need to 'get it back' as it never took it off your allocation in the first place
