voluntary redundancy and 104 weeks

I have been trying to find out if there is any change to the voluntary redundancy package royal mail offer under the new deal if agreed.

Will it still be based on seniority ?
Is it still up to a maximum 104 weeks ?
Are there any changes to this planned in the near future ?

There seems to be a lot of confusion over whats on page 12 of the agreement regarding this.

I have emailed CWU head office but no reply.

Hopefully someone out there will have the answer.

i emailed the HQ a week gone Friday because of the very same issue. the wording on page 12. we had a thread going on the same subject so in the end I got in touch with the big guns......NO REPLY!!

Well that's not good to hear that our union, communication workers union, are not communicating with us, who we are paying for. Over a week and no reply. Not very impressed hearing that.

From what I have been told, the 104 weeks has gone. Well done cwu. Hate to think what they would have agreed to without such a big yes vote. Am led to believe any future vr would receive around 6 months compensation. Yet another no vote here

without ''putting pressure'' on dingo, and only if you have the time. do you have a comment on this dingo. there are a lot of unhappy people in the dark over this 'misquoted misunderstanding'. our area rep has said MTSF is ''unchanged''. yes, we know that. but for how long. the wording on page 12 says otherwise. we need a positive answer before voting our rights away.

This won’t have been a priority for the cwu they are fundamentally against vr’s,on numerous occasions I’ve seen them block redundancy at different offices on the pretext they are trying to save jobs when all they have done is stop staff who want to go getting a decent send off I think it’s more to do with their dwindling memberships

You are dead right, EVR and VR on not high on there list of prioritys, they don't like you taking VR they think you are jumping ship, that's the impression I get anyway

Considering that RM (at least in deliveries) is run on a less than skeleton staff, I think the chances of anyone getting any form of vr is slim to non existent. So it's all a bit of a moot point.

And before you know it your standing at your stantion with a singleton van waiting for a 100 parcels and a whack of delivery pouches to be dropped by off by a cleaner in a two tonner whose just enrolled in an ACDC scheme.

with longer outdoor hours on the way it will need bigger rounds so redundancies will be given so that there rounds will be split up and shared out

Probably hope we will all die on delivery first only DSM's got paid off last time did get 4 times pay out of the most senior posties though!
