Shorter working week

Did we ever have a vote to see if we wanted a shorter working week? Just the only people that gain is the company still the same workload in the same time ? or is it me ?

You have an hour taken off your working week for the same pay. How is that a bad thing?
You have a start time and a finish time

Has anyone got any idea if/how they're actually going to take an hours work off,ok it's easy to say we'll start 12mins later but still doing the same amount of work ! I understand how more automation will reduce indoor work but presumably that won't happen the day we start our 38hr week.
I reckon our Dom will just say the usual answer to everything 'you'll be ok the mail's down'

yes i couldnt get my head round this either , but the other day one of the top cwu guys said they will use the data capture to see what time if any that can be saved indoor or outdoor on deliverys as royal fail want all hours paid for to be worked

and if there isn't no way of losing that time to get a 38hr week then royal fail will have to invest in that office but he didnt say how , maybe put dutys in

, or all the lunatics that start early and work for nowt and dont take breaks or use the methods to get a flyer may find they will be given more work off those that do the job right

, its time to wake up and smell the coffee for them people.

If hours are banked then its easy to see how they can get a 38 hour week i would wager most of us do that or less now. Of course in busy periods or if we worked to rule then it would be much tougher.

You don't need to bank hour's you should have a resource meeting two days before the duty's are displayed and the CWU should be in this meeting if you don't have enough full time staff on a permanent basis the DOM should consider making part timers up to full time!

More automation to eliminate more indoor work in DOs is a good few years off, if it ever happens
