What page of the agreement does it say manager's are going to enforce meal breaks and stop early starters, like the first rep was saying?

Is this some kind of fashion show? Fashion a side I don't like those bullshit stripes on the new pension scheme nor the mere-cat with the martin walsh jumper for a fee extra on probably for token gesture as is the pension solution for us all.

Leaving aside the sartorial inelegance - he seems very downbeat about the agreement.
He describes it as a "reasonable" agreement - no deal of the century talk.
And suggests there is a bigger battle to come next year with RM.
It might have been better to have the battle with an 89% mandate for strike action.

The reps will say what the branches tell them to say, most of them won't have even read the agreement other than the summary page, I doubt anyone at branch level fully understands the agreement either, it's been written specifically in a manner that makes it whatever you want to read into it.

It's actually not an agreement, it's the opposite, it's just an argument waiting to happen. In that respect Martin is correct the real fight starts with the implementation of this thing because Royal Mail are already starting to test it and it's not even ratified yet. The old trick of burying trials is not going to wash this time and there's going to be some very angry members in a few months when they see proposals for later starts despite not appearing on the list.

The pension situation is going to rumble on for a long time yet and if members are expecting answers in this booklet being sent out they're going to be disappointed. The CDC scheme cannot be designed until the regulations are in place because it has to be designed around them and if it hasn't been designed Royal Mail cannot and will not give any details of any design proposals for fear of the legal consequences of promising something they can't deliver.

One thing I do know is that I'm done, done with the spin and the manipulation of ordinary members, with the branch politics, the silencing of alternative views, the cronyism and reactionary protectionism, done with the pettyness, sexism, racism, bigotry and intolerance that is rife within the union structure, done with the whole sorry lot.

Does that mean your coming out of the union?

Does that mean any of us will see the big shining light of retirement if that goal is to far why would you stay or anyone. I commend fishtank for his views even if they contradict my own views but everyone has a limit even myself. Such a deal can only cause more questions than can be answered by a field rep even area reps cannot get their heads round this deal!

I've said this in another thread, when our I DOM was questioned about this he basically said it would be business as usual and people could go home when finished and he'd be changing nothing.

The only way this would work would be to have a way of anonymously bubbling DOM's and Lino's etc that are not sticking by the "all paid hours are to be worked, use of delivery equipment is mandatory blah blah blah".

Pretty much the same. If this goes through I'm seriously considering cancelling union membership because this'll be three "agreements" on the bounce that they've completely screwed up and fed us the "the deal of the century" garbage line.
