Does anybody know how much money people got selling their shares on the first day you could sell them?
Also how many shares could be sold and how many did we get in total.
Sorry for all the questions but answers appreciated!

1. No, because people would have got different prices. The prices are not fixed on a day by day basis, they change sometimes minute to minute so people selling online at 11 am would have got a different price to those selling at 4:30, as well those selling by phone. However, around 15 October 2016 the price was £4.96 - £5on_the_way_OUT wrote:Does anybody know how much money people got selling their shares on the first day you could sell them?

2. You could only sell those that you had held for a minimum of 3 years (with tax implications) and 5 years (with no tax).
3. Everyone had different amounts of shares issued but the maximum issued at privatisation was 613 IIRC.

RM was undersold so the big winners were the likes of pension companies and other large investors who were able, or allowed, to buy loads of shares then sell them on soon afterwards. Both privatisation and PFI have both been shown to be massively failed experiments but I doubt its possible to turn back the clocks now.

It doesn't matter what time you sell the price is averaged out over the day you decide to sell.
