I did warn that there are many changes coming to the pipeline that will alter start and finish times, LAT are just one of them and even with them as the product grows so will it's impact
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

Is that official about the 13 weeks ?
Whats the point of releasing a table of office changes if that can happen.
Can we have confirmation on that because that would sway everyone in my office [not that we are very enthusiastic about the deal anyway !!]

It wouldn't surprise me to see the 10:00 2C dispatch from MCs move to 12:00 or 13:00 to facilitate the LATfishtank wrote:I did warn that there are many changes coming to the pipeline that will alter start and finish times, LAT are just one of them and even with them as the product grows so will it's impact

Fill out one of those forms for family friendly then get told to feck off because of the cost and disruption to the business .rm will look sympathetically at individual needs after 13 weeks notice given by rm
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

I don't wish to be negative but ain't it obvious that getting everyone to start later before the pipeline is up and running just means that RM will suddenly expect everyone (if they are not skipping breaks and rushing round) to be finishing later anyway??
The obvious thing then happens. You get a bunch of posties coming into work even earlier just so that they can finish that bit earlier whilst the rest of us who actually start on time will be the ones that will be immediately forced into working overtime unless we can fight tooth and nail to get some work taken off. The CWU strategy of not listening to its members concerns is primarily leading Royal Mail even stronger towards a strategy of divide and conquer rather than a Union one of "United we Stand". I'm not against change, far from it, and I've seen plenty of changes. What needs to change is the fact that the company should stop assuming that we are all going to work overtime because some of us do have a life outside of work.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

London has the most impacted from the LA acceptance issue due to the number of 4 day weeks and the fact that most of these current start at 5 or 5:15.
However it is not true that the protection only last 13 weeks that is garbage.
Remember the change on LAT is not due in until October and that each office will be reviewed on the basis , what is the last arrival in your inward Mail Centre and how many York’s are on it. The assumption is that the Mail Centre needs 90 minutes to process this work , than you have to factor the stem time from Mail Centre to your Delicery office and than minus 60 minutes for your start time and 90 minutes for those who are capped at 30 minutes later.
There is no other plans for changes to finishes times deployed with this agreement , no flights being cancelled , the network reviews are links to this proposal.
There will be a new Delivery Agreement sometime in 2020 but this will be subject to further negoations , a policy forum and a membership vote.
Business as usual proposals may lead to some proposals around changes. However Royal Mail fully understand now how unpopular their original proposals for a 9-5 Delivery window.
The concentration now for the business is to grow the LAT product from October based on the finishing times agreed with this new Agreement. Additionally they have now identified the 80 units which will deliver what does not connect with the core workload.
Remember Royal Mail and CWU have analysed every inward Mail Centre last dispatch under the network review and LAT from NDC and every delivery office hence we now have over 1040 and increase from 1023 where there will not be any changes to finishing times.
The 51 which were capped at 30 minutes has now reduced to 31.
You really think that Royal Mail will potentially cancel the flights which carry Mail when the Network review factors in the flights and as do the Later Acceptance growth product ?
There will be pressure in the future from later finishes but that will be subject to a further lengthy negoations and following the trials and will be subject to either a conference / policy forum and another vote of the membership.

I'd suggest the original poster reads again the source being misquoted or has which has been misunderstood.
The 13 weeks mentioned is around each unit producing a 13 week resourcing strategy, which, funnily enough, will need to be updated for the next 13 weeks and every 13 weeks thereafter. It doesn't say that 'after 13 weeks it's all down to local agreements, which means you'll automatically have your finishing time changed'.
It's called resourcing to workload, and it should be happening in offices at the moment on a two week forecast. If the agreement is passed, they are looking to implement a 13 week forecast, which would allow all staff who don't have their own actual duty to know 13 weeks ahead when their rest day will fall.
"A review of start times will be put to Unit Reps and agreement of the members is required or we disagree. If there is a case agreed on later start times, 3 months notice will be given. Individual circumstances will be taken into account. The Later Pipeline, designed to carry letters will be adapted over 3, 5 and 7 years in response to demands for next day delivery. That offers more full time work, possible part time earnings at flexible times on a 13 week schedule of attendance from 07.00 till 19.00."

It will be parcels which will have a late acceptance in RDCs and later dispatch from NDC. Volumes expected to initially to be under 70k. The vast majority of this is aimed at arriving with the core load in delivery offices hence why the arrival into Mail Centres will be new but which is aimed at ensuring the vast majority of offices will not have a later finish time and the maximum 31 offices will be capped at 30 minutes later.SpacePhoenix wrote:Has it been confirmed what mail streams will come under LAT?
