Yeah vote no unless the union gets us 15% pay rise over the 3 years backdated to April last year. We get reduction in working week to 35 hours with 2 hours a day took off our duty times. We get to start at 5am again with 12 o clock last letter.
We get final salary pension scheme for everybody reinstated
We get all part timers made up to full time.
Don't let the union sell us down the river

Reductio ad absurdum is never a great debating position gb. If I could take your logical fallacy and double down on it let's vote yes because we're all getting unicorns.

I suppose to put some sensible spin on this thread the challenge for the union is not to get a yes vote, that's pretty much nailed on but to get a big enough turnout and percentage to give the agreement some legitimacy after an 89% strike ballot vote on a very large turnout.

A yes is a yes but more people need to vote yes than don't vote yes.

Think a fair few on here actually think the deal should not be too far away from what I posted.
I think it will be a yes vote by quite a big margin for 2 reasons the carrot of the back pay & most people having more reasonable expectations of what the union could have got us.
Not a perfect deal in any way but wholly reasonable & acceptable for no need to strike & lose pay.
There will be plenty more battles to be fought in future

Do you think the pension solution is acceptable gb, to the membership as a whole that is. Not on a personal level.

Is the pension solution acceptable ?
The proposed pension deal is not a guarantee, so it’s not a given, as yet!
The deal as a whole is not as good as it is being touted.
The same problems - especially in delivery - are still there as will continue - does no one listen to any local every day problems throughout the country ? Is/was it too much to ask for fair, honest treatment within a water tight deal ?
The deal is filled with loopholes, open to interpretation.
All problems will still be there, eg enforced lapsing, bullying, harassment etc, and with the hour deduction so vaguely explained in detail, the daily abuse currently carried out in DOs will continue unabated or even more aggressively.
No to poor deal. Buttered up to look like the real deal but the true devil is in the detail, open to abuse because of clever word/speak. RM management will have a field day and delivery staff will be truly shafted yet again.

I don't pretend to be an expert on pensions fish so don't fully understand all ins & outs.
Think the sell out on pensions happened years ago not this time.
May live to regret it but I will trust the union on this one it seems they hopefully will get a lot of what they wanted on the issue.
As far as members go too they backed the union massively in the negotiations with the strike ballot & think most will accept what deal has been done

I think really what most people want are not ridiculous things but a clear, solid, easily understood agreement with something guaranteed.

There is a possibility that none of the four pillars pension solution, a proposed SWW flight path to 35hrs, the legal protections and a redesigned pipeline that takes our needs into consideration will exist at the end of 2019/20 and Royal Mail would still not have breached this agreement because there are no guarantees that any of them will exist. They are all subject to conditions that are pretty much in the hands of the employer.

Even the pay rise in 2019 isn't nailed on to happen. It's an agreement of sorts but it's very much an employer's statement of possible intent rather than anything you could bank on.

Well if it the case that what we get out of this agreement is nothing like what the union believe they have negotiated then we have truly got a incompetent leadership.
And we are probably totally f****d cause RM will be free to do what they want as union will be very unlikely to get same backing from membership again to fight it.

I agree, in that far too much of this provisional agreement we will vote on is subject to things that are out of OPGs' hands...
The government might not agree to the pension changes required
RM can decide to not further reduce the full time working week because their saving targets through various trials do not suceed
RM can decide not to implement some of the provisional pay increase
etc.

It's an agreement full of woolly ifs, buts and maybes, with hoops we have no idea if they are realistic enough for us to jump through to qualify.

Got to be a massive NO vote.
The big 89% vote cast by members on the 4pillar strategy ( however hopeful ) has nowhere near been achieved with this offer on the table. Any of of the 89% voting for acceptance now on the basis of back pay are seriously deluded.
We have swallowed dangled carrots before, only to regret it now!
If accepted, it will just prove how gullible and easily conned our membership really are !
Talk about grasping defeat from the jaws of victory, !? It was only a big conn to get Xmas done and dusted with the legal argument firmly in RM court.
To achieve ALL 4 pillar targets was only right and RMs demands were extreme in setting their bar high.
I thought we had matched the challenge at the time but now fear they ( RM ) have called our bluff and the members will tuck their tails between their legs, roll over and accept a slow painful death.
The CWU need to be honest on this issue before any vote, or is trying to save face more important? History as ever will probably prove their ability of leading us up the garden path. Well done CWU.

Its not the union that it used to be. They have basically greased up every postie to bend over and take it, big time up the neither regions. Its pathetic. I originally thought it was not to bad but on reading it, well what can you say. This union is done. Its just a shadow of what it once was. All the offices used to stand together and even the weak ones that didn't come out on the street wouldn't handle *black mail*. The reps new what other reps and offices were doing. Jesus, half the Postie's now don't know what pay entitlements their due, like scheduled attendance or shift allowance ect. That's all down to this local agreement bullshit. They need to get back to NATIONAL agreements and stop this divide and conquer from RM.
