Erm if 1035 offices are already working later how would you make it fair? Make them work even later than need be just so they have to change again as well? Do you not think that just maybe the offices that still have the earlier starts are actually the ones who already have an unfair advantage?

office times are all planned.....

if your average day is 9 hours , you get a 2nd rest day at a specific week but still be paid 39 hours.

wally week, wallington, 2in 6 etc.........

greatly depends on office and local agreement

The 1530 for residential and 1630 for rural walks are maximum times for last letter delivered. It does not necessarily mean that you will be finishing at those times every or even any day. The CWU made a big deal of saying they had foiled RMs plan to have us all finishing at 1700. Trouble is with the two lots of 12 minutes from each of the SWW hours plus any additional later start from the LAT on busy days we could well be on or over the maximum times. The mail volumes at the moment are suspiciously low but don't expect it to stay like that too long.....

This list only applies to offices affected by one specific change in the pipeline LAT.....and only at the moment. The move towards 17 ton vehicles will affect far more. Decommissioning CSS machines and closing MPUs will push later starts, merging delivery offices will push later starts, one wave and any changes to the delivery model will push later starts, the list of future potential drivers for later starts is practically endless.

Anybody voting yes on the basis that their office doesn't appear on this list needs to have a word with themselves.

Can't see there being the scope for decommissioning too many CSS machines without risking compromising clearances. One wave can only be the current wave 1 being sequenced and the current wave 2 being either just walk sorted or sent as manual (no matter how many boxes). if it's the current wave 1 and 2 run together then you'll probably near enough guaranteed EVERY DO being 9-5

We already have a rural delivery that has a finishing time of 4.50pm, last letter in at 4.30pm, so RM have already managed to sneak this in....several years ago. The delivery starts 10miles from the office and finishes 5 miles away, so it's not as if there's an out of the ordinary mileage to be covered before and after delivery commences. The other rurals all finish an hour earlier.

Still can't understand why rurals should finish an hr later and be delivering mail for the last hr in the dark come December. That's if the duty holder works to time too! It'd be the last 2.5 hrs if finishing duty which we all get pressured to do as 'we can't cover cut offs in the countryside' . We all know how well lit it is in the countryside and how it gets colder once the sun goes down. Bit of a health and safety risk if you ask me. Another thing, are the managers going to be changing their hrs too, so that they don't go home at 2pm (12 on Saturday)?

I agree. I get the ' we can't cover cut offs in the countryside' from my DOM. As if playing russian roulette down narrow country lanes with blind bends wasn't bad enough.
